Press F1 to Resume -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So I pressed F1, and the next screen is this: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reboot and select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot devices and press okay -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nothing happened after that. By the way, both my optical drives are "blind" (they still open and close but can't read anything). So anyhow, I re-started the computer and must have pressed F8 because a screen popped up and I was asked to choose a boot device. I guess both my primary and slave storage devices are Western Digital (I forgot what the slave was though) so when I saw the options, I picked the WDC one (I now know that was the slave). After I did that, I once again got to the "Reboot and select proper Boot device" screen and the next screen was just the "_" (the prompt?) going down line after line indefinitely. Sometimes the word "Slave" or "Master" are there after the words "Primary" or primary master hard "Secondary" in there as well. While the content of the message varies, the result is usually the same: The startup process lags after auto-detecting the drives, then gives me this error. I have three SATA hard drives and a DVD drive plugged in to my mb via SATA. When no HDD are detached, but I have boot media in the DVD drive, the computer starts up quickly and normally, with no errors. When any or all of the HDDs are plugged in, I receive the above error. I borrowed a HDD from my roommate, plugged it in, attempted to boot up and still received the error. None of the HDD are bad, and it would be a pretty big coincidence for all four I've tested to fail at once. What could the problem be? Is the error before or after windows starts to load?? If it is before then the boot options in bios may have changed and if it is after loading has begun perhaps the MBR has become corrupted. Please advise?
