A quick Google search indicated that this is a fairly common message and the only remedy is replacement of the head unit. I guess you will have to take it to the dealer if you are still under warranty. Otherwise, a trip to most any audio shop should be able to replace the head unit. __________________ 09 Jetta Sportwagen, Blue Graphite Metallic, DSG, Sunroof, Rubber mats, Zeta Products body color side moldings, Body color door edge guards, VW front and rear Splash Guards, Clear rear bumper protector, 8" "Stubby" antenna. But at that time I suddently got the following error message on the audio unit display: "CDC Hardware error". Since then the CD player of the Audio unit is not functioning at all (It freezez and reads: "Please wait.." then it reads: "CDC hardware error" again...the CD eject and insert, etc. don't work either). The Radio works with issues; every 2 minutes it gives the same error "CDC hardware error", then radio works ok for another 2 minutes. Is there anyway I could repair the unit without taking to the dealership? They charge outrageous fees for little issues and I obviously no longer have the warranty. Extra details: The audio unit has a CD changer with 6 slots, MP3 playing capability (No ipod connection). 3 following 8 answers 8 Report Abuse Are you sure you want to delete this answer? Use the unit A BIG CAVIAT I am sure this doesn't apply to everyone's unit as I am sure the cause of CDC HARDWARE ERROR's will va
