computers onto it from the previous domain that domain controller had had a fatal crash. This went well and I decided to upgrade the computers to Windows 10 and Office 2016 and this went http://networksteve.com/exchange/topic.php/Outlook_2016_will_not_connect_to_ANY_mail_server./?TopicId=74487&Posts=0 well, except on one computer only. When trying to setup the new Outlook profile, I https://www.docuware.com/support_faq/index.php?sid=129213&lang=en&action=artikel&cat=32&id=1628&artlang=en was unable to connect to exchange and get the message (There was an error locating one of the items needed to complete this operation. It might have been deleted." Since I couldn't complete the setup of the profile, I can't get into outlook to run the connectivity tests. So, I decided to setup a POP3 account. There I get a different mapi error error message: "Internal MAPI error: The profile does not contain the requested service. Contact your administrator." So far I have tried: Doing a repair of Office 2016 Corrected a problem with autodiscover (added a SRV autodiscover record to DNS) Ran the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer (https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com) and got a clean bill of health Connected another machine to the domain with Windows 10 and Office 2010 and was able to connect both exchange (via autodiscover) and POP3 internal mapi error clients. Uninstalling Office 2016 and reinstalling As above, but also doing a general clean up of the registry, and appdata directories. Some additional information: The machine in question was upgraded from Windows 7 to 8.1 some time ago and to Windows 10 recently. Like all the other machines, it was moved from the old domain to the new one (off the original domain, reboot, on the new domain, reboot). The issues with creating a profile for Outlook exist on all user accounts (including 1 created just to test this issue) and only on this machine. So, I think that there is some mis-configuration/corruption on the machine. For various reasons, I would like to avoid having to do a rebuild on this computer if at all possible. (The machine is used for software development and there are a lot of development environments installed on the machine, which all seem to be working correctly) Ideas and suggestions? June 20th, 2016 8:57pm There was an error locating one of the items needed to complete this operation. It might have been deleted." Just came across a few threads which mentioned that rebuilding the "MapiSvc.inf" file will stop this specific error. You might want to give it a try and see if it works. Just close outlook and look for mapisvc.inf in your computer, delete this file and restart your outlook.
