Premium SP1 on my laptop. I have a Fedora Core 7 server running SaMBa. They share a /28 subnet (with 0, 6, and 7 taken by networking, 1

There are two SaMBA users, user1 and user2, each either their own passwords. user1 can access \\myserver\share1 and user2 can access \\myserver\share2 . I log on to the Vista laptop using a separate user/pass from either of wnetuseconnection those two accounts. When I attempt to connect to these shares, I can do so without a problem if I connect to them singly using "connect using different user name". However, if I attempt to connect to both simultaneously, I get: "System error 1219 has occurred. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again." I need to be able to connect to both shares simultaneously, but using the different credentials (I don't want user1 creating files in \\myserver\share2 and I don't want user2 creating files in \\myserver\share1). I have tried manually using NET USE and I get the same error when I try to map the second drive after the first is mounted. I have also messed with regedit and changed \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\LmCompatibilityLevel from 3 to 1 (a certain site suggested this). I've also seen some DNS kludges that trick the w

Currently, I am connecting using the command: net use z: \\server_ip\share password /user:doman\username and I am disconnecting using the command: net use z: /delete /y Furthermore, I verify the resource is no longer connected by simply examining that it is not listed on the net use command. However, if I disconnect and then try to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24789566/mapping-and-remapping-network-drives-with-different-users-on-win7 reconnect as a different user, I am hit with a System Error 1219 has occurred. Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. I did some research and solutions like mapping two different drives, one using the ip and another using the server name are not acceptable since the test client will not necessarily know the server name. Restarting the computer is also not acceptable given that would interrupt the automated tests. Finally, I cannot modify any server settings using the test client, so no Samba aliases. I think that perhaps the issue is cached credentials, but when I examine the credential manager in Control Panel, there is nothing listed. Is there any way to make Windows completely disconnect from the server share and/or make it forget the cached credentials? Or am I doing something wrong? Thank you for any suggestions/help! EDIT: I should clarify, any solutions have to be done programatically since this is an automated test that should be able to resolve this issue should it arise. I am writing in Python, but I am willing to utilize a solution in any language that can run on Windows. windows windows-7 network-programming smb share|improve this question edited Jul 16 '14 at 20:17 asked Jul 16 '14 at 19:58 user3846506 71111 add a

Even though there are no existing connections (net use returns an empty list, process explorer doesn't find system error 1219 any handles for connections to the server) I get 1219 error message. In order to map the drive I use the following commands: NET USE * /D /YES NET USE y: \\sbs\[dir_name] /USER:[domain_name]\[username] /PERSISTENT:YES The environment: Windows SBS 2011 Server (\sbs) Win7 Professional 64Bit, in sbs domain I can map the drive using the IP address, but the program needing to access the drive tries to access it via its name (\sbs) and fails (well, I think at least that this is the reason). Another bit of info: I previously had joined the domain with a different user (user1). For some reasons I left and rejoined the domain using a different one (user2). When trying to map the drive in Windows Explorer it automatically suggests user1. Could it be that there are some old settings that make Windows think that user1 is still connected to sbs? Any help will be greatly appreciated. mapping network-drive net-use share|improve this question asked Jun 26 '14 at 9:24 thisaintme 235 add a comment| active o
user’ Error Tweet March 2, 2015 by Mitch Bartlett 6 Comments Filed Under: Windows Tagged: win7, Windows 2008, Windows 2012, Windows 8 When mapping a drive in Microsoft Windows, you may receive an error that says: The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name are not allowed. Disconnect all previous connections to the server or shared resource and try again. Clicking "OK" yielded another error. The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network share. To solve this problem, try the following steps: Select the "Start" button, then type "cmd". Right-click the "Command Prompt" option, then choose "Run as administrator". Type "net use", then press "Enter". Look for any drives listed that may be questionable. In many cases where this problem occurs, the drive may not be assigned a letter. You'll want to remove that drive. From the Command Prompt, type "net use /delete \\servername\foldername" where the servername\foldername is the drive that you wish to delete. In some extreme cases, you may want to simply use the command "net use * /delete". This will delete all mapped drives though, so be careful that you know what you're doing. Post applies to most modern versions of Microsoft Windows. Related posts: "Error 0x80072f76" During Windows Update Why Do Some Windows Files and Folder Names Appear in Blue?
