In IIS, we added a virtual directory under Def Web Site that pointed to the target folder. It worked. That

is, we could browse to http://server/folder/file.pdf. We could also map a drive using net use * http://server/folder. We tried to deploy this into production file servers. We mirrored the above setup. Unfortunately, despite the
Webdav Net Use
exact setup, when trying to browse I get "500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed". When I try to map a drive like I did above, I get an error: "System error 59 has occurred. An unexpected network error occurred". The lone difference between Dev and Prod is that the prod folder is part of microsoft webdav client a DFS replicated share that is published to the namespace. Is that the reason why? Or could there be something else? Note: The DFS - \\company.com\ny and the namespace servers are the file servers themselves. Inside the namespace are 2 folders. One of the folders is hosted on serverA and B and the other folder is on serverC and D. In IIS we pointed the virtual folder to the shared folder that is replicated between serverA and B, let's say. When that didn't work, we drilled down another level and pointed the virtual directory to that subfolder and still no go. Both dev/prod file servers are Win2K8 SP2 x64(non-R2), same WSUS updates, same everything. The client is Win7, x64, Pro. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Thursday, February 10, 2011 6:56 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I looked at the KB article. It is in reference to Windows 2000 SP4. Sorry, I said this was 2008. Iposted in this forum because I was asking from the perspective of DFS and any possible conflicts with WebDAV against a share published into the namespace. In any case, we got a workaround. Somewhat of a kludge, but we got it working using sy

Installed Application Server and IIS server roles. Prepping to install SCCM 2007, and part of that is getting WebDAV working. https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27670268/Net-use-WebDAV-on-Windows-2008-R2-results-in-error-59-or-67-GAH.html Seems simple enough. I've followed a couple tuts online (http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/350/installing-and-configuring-webdav-on-iis/#002, for example) and it's set up properly, I think. WebDAV is installed and enabled on IIS. Authoring rules are set up. Authentication is set to Anonymous and Windows Authentication on the server and the site. WebDAV Settings are set up according to SCCM requirements. -The settings in IIS at one point did NOT match WebDAV_schema.xml (which was odd, but what one person (http://ajweh.com/blog/?p=103) acknowledged could be an issue. I set the options to the same as they are in IIS Manager. I'll type out the commands I'm trying and the errors I'm getting below. makes it possible to manage files on a remote Web-Server. WebDAV is preferred when clients has to connect through an insecure network (like the Internet) to reach the remote server, as http://smallvoid.com/article/winnt-webdav-network-drive.html the remote server can be protected by a firewall and only leaving the https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/using-web-disk-as-a-network-drive.280242/ HTTP port open and allows SSL instead of using VPN. Windows XP includes the WebClient service that allows one to mount a Web Folder as a mapped network drive: net use x: "http://server.com/folder" /User:UserName Password Note to make the mapping permanent add the parameter /persistent:yes Note Windows XP can only connect to net use port 80 and can only map to a sub folder and not the root directly. If wanting to make a secure SSL mapping using the https protocol at port 443: net use x: "\\server.com@ssl:443\folder" /User:UserName Password net use x: "https://server.com/folder" /User:UserName Password Note Windows XP only supports SSL / https connections when using My Network Places, but can be tricked into using SSL with net use net use system by creating a forward server using stunnel. More Info Simple Groupware WebDAV. Windows Vista can create a network drive without needing to dive into the command line: Click on the Start menu and choose Computer. Click the Map network drive button in the toolbar. Select the drive-letter and enter the WebDAV location in the Folder using the http address. Click the blue link "Connect using a different username" to specify a different user account and password, than the Windows user account. Click Finish to create the new drive letter. Note there is an update available for Windows XP/Vista for better support of WebDAV folders (Will be part of XP SP3 and Vista SP1). More Info MS KB907306. The latest version of the Web Folders update (2.0) doesn't support Windows 98, Me or 2000. Instead one should use version 11.0.6715.15 Download Webfldrs-KB892211-ENU.exe. Windows Vista SP1 (and older) has a known bug where it cannot access sub-folder unless it has read-access to the parent folders. More Info MS KB942392 Note if using Windows 2000 or earlier, then one must use a 3rd party utility to map a WebDAV folder as a network drive. Note MS Office (

This is what I've tried: net use i: "http://example.com:2077" /User:docs@example.com PasswordClick to expand... This results in: System error 67 has occurred. The network name cannot be found.Click to expand... I am running Windows Vista (yes I know), but the rest of the network is Windows XP for the time being. Can anyone advise how this can be done? #1 jpswade, Jun 8, 2012 Last edited: Jun 8, 2012 jpswade Member Joined: Jun 8, 2012 Messages: 24 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 1 cPanel Access Level: Root Administrator I created a folder called "main" and tried this: C:\Users\User>net use * "https://255.255.255.255:2078/main" System error 1790 has occurred. It never prompted me for a user/password as I've seen here: Using the WebDAV Redirector : WebDAV for IIS 7.0 : Publishing Content to Web Sites : The Official Microsoft IIS Site I tried again and then got this error: C:\Users\User>net use * "https://255.255.255.255:2078/main" System error 59 has occurred.
