I'm using NetBeans on Windows 7 if it matters... java filewriter file-not-found share|improve this question asked May 24 '10 at 15:41 Ricardo Amaral 6,13927118216 does that path and file exist? –Mitch Wheat May 24 '10 at 15:43 2 also minor point, it's generally good form to use Path.Combine() ... –Mitch Wheat May 24 '10 at 15:44 1 No, but as I'm trying to write and not read, I thought the path/file would be created automatically... –Ricardo Amaral May 24 '10 at 15:47 1 Path.Combine probably isn't a great suggestion for Java :-). –Brett Kail May 24 '10 at 15:48 add
Troubleshooting GuidePrevious: Two Server Instances Bind to Same Port on WindowsNext: Application Generates Error persistence.support.JDODataStoreExceptionError: https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/2274 System cannot find the path specified Description This error message occurs when attempting to start the system the server after deleting the J2SE directory that was specified during installation. This situation generally occurs after being informed during the install that the J2SE platform needs an upgrade, and the upgrade the system cannot takes place after the Application Server installation. Solution 1 To use the new J2SE for all domains, change the AS_JAVA variable in asenv.conf (Solaris/Linux), or asenv.bat (Windows). Solution 2 The J2SE version can be changed on a per-domain basis by modifying the java-home attribute for the java-config element in the domain’s domain.xml file.

Cheers, Uri LarryEitel commented Sep 22, 2012 Thank you uboness for your suggestion. Still no joy. My current config has: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0 and C:\Program Files\Java\jre7 I tried the following: set JAVA_HOME=C:\jre7\bin set JAVA_HOME=C:\jre7 set JAVA_HOME=C:/jre7/bin set JAVA_HOME=C:/jre7 set JAVA_HOME=/jre7/bin set JAVA_HOME=/jre7 I also have a jdk1.7.0 directory but I am assuming elastic looks for runtime? I am anxious to fire up elastic!! :) elastic member uboness commented Sep 22, 2012 so basically, the JAVA_HOME should point to the parent directory of the bin. In the examples above, it should point to: "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0" or "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7" If you look at the elasticsearch.bat file. You can insert an echo just before the line where the program is executed and echo the whole line (it might show you where things go wrong): echo "%JAVA_HOME%\bin\java" %JAVA_OPTS% %ES_JAVA_OPTS% %ES_PARAMS% %* -cp "%ES_CLASSPATH%" "org.elasticsearch.bootstrap.ElasticSearch" after executing it, make sure that the paths (as they're echoed) indeed exist. More specifically, that one of the following exists: "C:\ProgramFiles\Java\jdk1.7.0\bin\java.exe" or "C:\ProgramFiles\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" LarryEitel commented Sep 23, 2012 Working!!! Thank you for stating the obvious. :) uboness closed this Sep 24, 2012 phancongphuoc commented Apr 5, 2014 Thanks too, :) spangul commented Nov 6, 2014 Thanks a ton. dzolnjan commented Feb 24, 2015 If you got your elastic root folder prefixed with '!' you'll get same error.
