trying to open excel attachment in outlook, I am getting the error "The system cannot find the file specified". I have Office 2007 and thus previous suggestion of looking for Tools > Options > General Tab is not available. Can someone suggest a work around for Excel 2007? Close the message. 2. Start Excel. 3. Click the Microsoft Office Button, click Options, and then click Advanced. 4. Under the General tab, click to clear the Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) option, and then click OK. 5. Exit Excel. Now you can double-click the attachment to open it in Excel, and you can save it to your hard disk, and then double-click the file to open it. The problem started shortly after that; I"m not clear exactly when.The problem occurs whether I attach or embed a file. On the second attempt to send a file, the email is sent but when the attachment is opened on the other end it is empty. I save it to view it but no go; its size is ?0.? I have tried sending from different locations including Desktop. I can open the files fine in their applications and I can even open the file fine from the email embedment bef
