Do you want to start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service?" I click "Yes" and it says "Windows cannot start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service." So far I have tried Method 1 and 2 on Microsoft's pagehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/920074 (Even though this did not start due to a SP2 installation) Reinstalled SP3 (I have not reinstalled SP2 specifically since SP3 usually covered that) <---If thats the issue then shame on me. Go to Start -> Run -> Type in: sfc /scannow (with a space after sfc) then click ok. let it run. You may need your Windows XP install disk. You are better off, installing a free program such as Sygate's Personal Firewall, Agnitum's Outpost or Zonelab's Zonealarm. Either program will do a better job than M$. I agree that this fixes only the symptom, not the problem. But XP SP2 has caused so many problems, this may well be one (more) of them.
