Startup Error 0xc0000022 "application Failed To Initialize" Started by DRS524 , Jun 05 2007 11:23 AM This topic is locked 3 replies to this topic #1 DRS524 DRS524 Members 2 posts OFFLINE Local time:04:35 AM Posted 05 June 2007 - 11:23 AM Hello,I got this error message when I was attempting to use Hijackthis to investigate a possible malware problem on my machine and post the log.I have Norton 2007 and it shows no virus problems, only low risk tracking cookies.I downloaded the trial version of AVG did a scan and it showed the same cookies, -no virus.Then loaded HijackThis v1.99.1 and did a scan for my admin account and my wifes limited user account.When I went to scan my wifes account the following happened.The window previous to the message below said "For some reason your system denied write access to the Host file. If any hijacked domains are in the file, HijackThis may NOT be abel to fix this. If that happens, you need to edit the file yourself.....etc."The next window after clicking OK on the previous window had the following,An unexpected error has occurred at procedure: modMain_CheckOther1Item()Error #75 - Path/File access errorPlease email me at merijn@spywareinfo.com, reporting the following:* What you were trying to fix when the error occurred, if applicable* How you can reproduce the error* A complete Hij

I have a Dell 9100 running Win XP Media Ed. service pak 2.When my wife logs into her user account (limited) I get the following 0xc0000022 error ("application failed to initialize properly") for the following apps.mm_tray.exe (music match program)ccApp.exe (Symatic common client)oscheck.exe (Norton antivirus)mimboot.exe (music match)wcescomm.exe (Active sync)NkbMonitor.exe (Nikon picture project)PIFSvc.exe (AVG antivirus)avgcc.exe (AVG antivirus)I only get these errors on her user account, and any other user account I create with limited access. Hopefully, someone will know how to solve it, because it is really driving me crazy.I've only noticed this problem since upgrading to v12 (from v11.5). This doesn't happen everytime, but maybe 50% of the time, when I am logged into a computer with pcAnywhere, and I click on File Transfer. Instead of bringing up the file transfer window, the pcAnywhere window will just go white (though the title bar and file menu are still there, the contents of the window are white). It won't let me log off or X out of pcAnywhere. If I then log into the host computer using another application (LogMeIn), I see there is an error window on the host computer that says:"PROGRAM ERRORX An unexpected error has occurred in "Awhost32.exe" Information about this error has been saved in "C:\Program Files\Symantec\PCAnywhere\Awhost32.dmp" For more information on solving this problem, please check the PCAnywhere knowledge base at [url="http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/pca/kbase_pca.html""]http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/pca/kbase_pca.html"[/url]I've gone to the above website, but can't find any information to help.
