You can refer the article below: enable proxy settings in SharePoint web.config to view RSS Viewer Web Part Thanks Best RegardsTechNet Community Support Please remember to mark the replies as answers if they help, and unmark the answers if they provide no help. I have a RSS feed that is calledwww.abc.edu/rss.php(just an example)However, when I include it in the web part,I receive the following message above. However, I have been told that the logfiles are fine but do not know where to proceed from here. I am not sure what iscausing it. Could it be that it is coming http://www.go4sharepoint.com/Forum/error-message-unexpected-error-occured-23232.aspx from an external source?Answer #3Answered By: Timothy Davis Answered On: Oct 10Is there any chance the RSS feed comes from a source requiring authentication? In general the specifications for RSS feeds call for them to be anonymous, butsome require authentication (like the ones in SharePoint). The SharePoint rssweb part viewer does not support authenticated feeds. That might be theproblem.Answer #4Answered By: Adya Deshmane Answered On: Oct 10Another possibility is that the SharePoint server does not have the necessaryInternet access to get to the RSS feed. For example, computers on a corporate network typically need to be configured touse a proxy server to get to the Internet. In this case, you will need to editweb.config on your SharePoint server to use the proxy server so it can get tothe Internet. Didn't find what you were looking for?
