This morning, I opened the lid of my laptop, and the screen was still black (but it was on) so I tapped a few buttons and moved my finger on the touchpad a bit, but when it wouldn't wake up, I held down the power butto

The error I've received is listed below: Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or an unexpected CD-ROM drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the hardware manufacturer. Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred. Earlier in the day, I had my Canon EOS connected to my laptop directly, via USB, and was downloading photos. After I disconnected I was able to use my computer, but then later in the evening, when I went to re-start an unexpected i/o it, the error appeared. There was no external connection at that time. When it starts up it tells me 'Windows is downloading files' (something to that affect), and when it gets halfway through the task bar, the load apparently stops, and the error returns. I don't have a CD to boot, and have tried everything I know, which is pretty much removing the battery and trying a power boot only, and again, same result. I have a bunch of pictures and video on there and would hate to lose them. Please, any help Tech Support Guy can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! Did it make any difference ? managed, May 16, 2012 #2 kylejatl Thread Starter Joined: May 15, 2004 Messages: 57 That didn't work. I didn't think it would since the error mentions a drive connected to your computer issue, but thanks, it was worth a shot. Guess no one has any idea. kylejatl, May 17, 2012 #3 managed Allan Joined: May 24, 2003 Messages: 7,109 Do you get the error every time you use the laptop ? Can you get to Windows ? It look like the laptop is still trying to download from the camera. The storage in the Camera co
