past we have made an AD Forest Trust between partner company and our company and we're nowconsolidating our portals. They are using different URL to access our Intranet site and everything worked fine even without adding any Alternate Access Mapping. But when they tried to access our PWA they got "An unexpected error has occurred" error message. After some troubleshooting I figured that the problem is in missing Alternate Access Mapping. To add AAM to you Sharepoint 2007 Web Application go to your Central Admin Page, on the left hand menu pick Operationsand under Section Global Configuration click link Alternate access mappings. On the right side of the screen finddrop-downmenulabelledAlternate Access Mapping Collection and pick site collection that you are going to add a mapping. Then click on the "Edit public URLs" button and on the next screen. All you have to do now is to enter URL for mapping in Extranet input field and click Save.
