find it interesting that this would pop up in Acrobat when inserting a page since the problem seems more Reader related. I would speculate that it is the size of the document that is causing this error to happen. Michael Anderson Edit Answer (for another -24 minute) Acrobat is reporting this error because there is an internal error in your business objects for dummies pdf free download PDF. It has nothing the do with the size of your PDF. The error not big enough for Acrobat to choke and die, but inserting a page is a delicate operation where all the small details have to be in the right place. Was this PDF created with Acrobat, or a 3rd Party tool? Many 3rd Party tools do not create well formed PDFs. Has the PDF been through a lot of modifications? Acrobat can sometimes mess up the PDF Inernally if a lot of modifications have been made. I would suggest first performing a "SaveAs" on the PDF. If this doesn't work, then run the optimizer on it. What is happening is some users are attempting to open PDF files located on a website (intranet) via Internet Explorer 9 and also Internet Explorer 10. When the user clicks on the listed PDF file, an Acrobat (or Reader) error "Expected a dict object" appears and the IE screen remains blank. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/24882501/pdf-error-expected-a-dict-object-on-ie9-and-ie10 I was able to recreate this error on my PC only on IE9 and IE10 but it works on IE8 and IE11 and the other browsers however. So I am wondering if it is related to IE. If the users open the pdf within either the Acrobat or Reader application, it opens successfully. We have a client who likes to open his PDF files this way, so I would like to resolve this issue (rather that telling him to open the pdf in Acrobat or Reader). Thank you for your answers. internet-explorer pdf adobe acrobat share|improve this question asked Jul 22 '14 at 8:33 TheForbidden 3782619 1 A first step would be finding out whether the document is actually corrupted. For this, you/your user would actively download it and then open it in Adobe Reader or Acrobat. If the error occurs, but is only on that particular machine, something seems to be wrong with the transfer to that user. A cross-check would also be to download a document from elsewhere and do the same. However, if it works under some IEs, but not under others, chances are that the issue is with IE (or its integration of the Acrobat viewer plug-in). –Max Wyss Jul 22 '14 at 13:12 It does open correctly using a pdf viewer. The thing occurs randomly with several IE versions. –TheForbidden Jul 22 '14 at 15:02 add a c
