Since some time the module sg isn't loaded automagically anymore. Nero amongst others need it. Do you have sg loaded? Make sure you are root. cdrecord: For possible transport specifiers try 'cdrecord dev=help'. obviously I'm root, and I have append="ide-scsi" in my lilo.conf. the ide-scsi driver is loaded. /dev/sr0 is typically my scsi emulated cdrw drive (hdc I might add) I'm on slackware9.0/current, using the 2.4.20-wolk 4.6 kernel. The fact that wodim --devices lists /dev/sg1 is somewhat strange. I would expect a sg address with kernels older than 2.6. On newer kernels the address should be like /dev/sr0. The most plausible difference between shell and PHP would be a lack of permissions with PHP (other user id?).
