Make sure the computer is logged in or that the database service is running. Also make sure the firewall is set to allow Peachtree and Pervasive to run…"The help suggests that this is either a drive mapped to the wrong location or to an IP address instead of windows could not start the pervasive psql workgroup engine on local computer a drive letter, or it is a firewall problem. I am mapped correctly and I am behind the same Windows firewall which allows first computer to run. The error does not go away when you turn firewall off on one or both computers. I uninstalled and reinstalled Peachtree on both machines to no avail.Does anybody know how I fix this? Depending upon the mfg and verison, the antivirus may have it's own firewall. If so, the Peachtree Knowledge base has excellent detailed instructions for making the necessary firewall exceptions. How can I resolve this issue? Answer Several virus definition files were updated during late June 2007 that incorrectly identifies SRVANY.EXE as a Trojan Horse. The SRVANY.EXE file is used to launch the Pervasive Service and is located in c:\windows\system32 directory. This issue has been identified and corrected by Symantec with

on a Peachtree upgrade gone wrong (Peachtree Premium Accounting 2010). We decided to remove/reinstall, and now sage 50 accounting could not be started we get: "Peachtree cannot connect to your Peachtree company data location" This is the client install,....the data is on another server. I checked the drive peachtree support mapping to the server, and it is present and working (and has been for years). I checked the ppa170.ini file, and the path looked good. I tried another mapping and path, but no change in the problem. Reboot did not http://sagecity.na.sage.com/support_communities/sage50_accounting_us/f/132/t/47922 fix anything either. Launching Peachtree locally on the server where the data resides works fine. Firewall/AV not blocking. I've seen some mention of locked files possibly causing the issue? Any suggestions or assistance is greatly appreciated! arameth View Public Profile Find all posts by arameth #2 09-25-2009, 02:40 PM leo-iii Registered User Join Date: Sep 2009 Posts: 9 Server side problem I have had similar problems which usually have to do with the firewall on the server. Try http://forums.peachtreeusers.com/showthread.php?t=19042 switching it off to see if that is the problem. If so, then the program that needs access through the firewall is w3dbsmanager (or w3dbmanager) - that is the Pervasive service that runs on server and clients. Also, check that program and firewall on the client, but I would have expected the client to tell you that it was being blocked. Good luck leo-iii View Public Profile Find all posts by leo-iii #3 09-28-2009, 06:44 AM Rwylites Registered User Join Date: Nov 2008 Posts: 6 I had similar problems with 2008 and it turned out to be the firewall. I'm going to be upgrading to 2010 so I hope I don't have to go through that mess again. Just today I worked with a customer that had it installed on one pc, that was the "server", but could not get the second pc to connect. Lucky for me, after making sure that av and firewalls were off, I was able to uninstall the "server" and reinstall. Then the 2nd pc recognized the drive and installed correctly. Solved Peachtree / networking issue - cannot connect to database Posted on 2009-09-30 Windows Networking Networking Tax connect to / Financial Software 1 Verified Solution 8 Comments 7,869 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-19 We use Peachtree Premium for Manufacturing 2008. We have a small peer-to-peer network, with the Peachtree data files residing on 1 computer; other computers have a mapped drived to that shared folder. I'm getting ready to move us over to a server based network & have been working on setting up cannot connect to the server. I'm using my computer to test things with the server & now when I switch back to having the router be my DHCP I'm having trouble with Peachtree. It says it can't connect to the database, even though I can browse the mapped drive just fine. I can access all other resources on the network (that I've tried). I finally uninstalled Peachtree, wiped evidences of Peachtree from the computer & re-installed. When the installer got to the part of connecting to the database, I get the same error: Cannot Connect to Peachtree Database on Network. I've tried by completely disabling all firewalls, but that doesn't seem to be the issue. I think it's something with my mapped drive because at one point it said it was disconnected, but I could still browse it. I disconnected it (it was still there, couldn't get it to go away at all), reconnected it but still no luck. I'd appreciate any help I can get to solve this. Other computers on the peer-to-peer network are accessing just fine, so I know it's not actually a "server" computer issue. 0 Question b
