Security Question 1 Sign in to vote Hi, Apologies if I have dcom error windows xp the wrong forum. We use DCOM to allow client machines access to a shared application which is hosted
Dcom Error 1084
on Windows 2008. We have one situation where Windows Vista and Windows 7 machines connect fine but XP machines display "Interface Not Supported."We usually getthiswhen anonymous access is not selected dcom error windows 10 via My Computer DCOMaccess but this would surely break the Windows Vista and 7 machines as well which isn't happening. The only thing I can see that'shappening is that the following error is being displayed on the server at the time of the connection event 4625 An error occurred during logon 0xC00002ee My only thought is that there's increased security dcom server process launcher error in Windows 2008 which is preventing XP from accessing it but I can't figure out where this setting is. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Regards Chris Thursday, December 09, 2010 3:06 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote All, For anyone else getting this issue, we managed to figure this out after a long time troubleshooting with a Microsoft developer. The issue related to the user that was running the Shared App. The user was created in a Windows 2003 AD and then migrated to Windows 2008 AD and this caused some issues with the Service Principle Name (so I was advised). The simple fix was to recreate the user that launches the DCOM application and worked perfectly Hope this helps others as it certainly annoyed me! Are there any news concerning this issue? Thanks Thursday, December 16, 2

the connection to the server was established but following type cast generated in TLB UNIT dcom error returns an error "Interface not supported". There is no problem if the server and the client are on the same machine. I'm using Delphi 6 updated dcom error windows with both service packs over Windows XP Pro. Thanks in advance Regards Chris December 9th, 2010 6:06pm Hello all, Unfortunately, I couldnt' find the cause but my customer believed that it related to other software that was installed on the client machine. The steps I took during the troubleshooting were - Run the Simple DCOM Test http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259011 to see if this fails - Checked permissions in My Computer DCOM - Ran the COM+ catalog repair http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315296 None of these worked for me but they may help you Regards Chris Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now February 9th, 2011 8:54am This topic is archived.
