At first, my CPU would be at 100% and my entire laptop would be incredibly slow and along with that I keep getting a error saying DCOM has encountered an issue (or something like that) and windows must restart. I also have been having a plug and play error that says the exact same dcom error windows thing. It tends to happen at random. I've ran malwarebytes and my virus scanner which is Microsoft Security Essentials, Malwarebytes picked up 29 viruses which I cleaned and got rid of. then MSE, encountered a severe virus. I removed it then restarted my laptop and that fixed the cpu problem, but since then I've gotten the DCOM error once. I've tried running rootkit killer and it didnt detect anything. Also I tried system restore and it says I don't have any restore points. So now my question is, what do I do now? I know how to stop the restarting but it's still an annoying issue. I'm not sure if this is a virus or not but I figured I'd post here instead of the other forums. Specs: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit Intel Celeron GPU (yea I know, its not a high perfomance laptop but it works for me) 2.00 GB Ram (1.87 Usable) If you need any more information let me know please. I already posted this in another section of the forum but someone said to post it here also so thats why I have 2 topics about the same thing incase anyone was wondering Jan 2, 2

I hadn't restarted it in about a week so I figured it was probably just due for a restart. But when I woke up this morning I came back to my computer to see it had been restarted again. So I did a little digging and found in my event viewer under system the following: The process C:\Windows\system32\services.exe (Z-PC) has initiated the restart of computer Z-PC on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found Reason Code: 0x30006 Shutdown Type: restart Comment: Windows must now restart because the DCOM Server Process Launcher service terminated unexpectedly Did a little digging and am finding that there are a few cases out there of this happening and that DCOM server process launcher isn't a critical process, please correct me if i'm wrong. Question I have here is how do I disable this service so it will stop restarting my computer when it fails?I have tried the registry method and DCOMBobulator and neither to any success. Changing DCOM to N in registry and restarting has no effect and DCOMbobulator I'm assuming is just a GUI that does the same thing. I can not modify any of the properties of the service within windows as they are all grayed out. I just reformatted my computer about 3 weeks ago and have never had this problem before today. Thanks for the assistance 1 answer Last reply Jan 3, 2014 More about dcom process launcher restarting computer warning glockshnaJan 3, 2014, 4:24 PM Well it looks like I got a virus from somewhere. I am actually getting an error popup now but all it says is that my computer is restarting and it happens within 5 minutes of startup now. If I try and run system restore it just crashes on startup,
