I have a software installation package which contains the .msi file, a CAB file and some MST files. I wanted to modify the cabinet file. So I extracted the cab file usingCABARCutility. But before making any changes to the extracted files, just for testing the utility I removed the original cab file from the current directory. And created a new cab file from the files extracted from the original cab file, again using CABARC utility. But now if I run the .msi file, it shows the error. ERROR:1334. The file "XYZ" cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file Data1.cab. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. But the file is present in the cabinet file I can see that. The same installer is working fine with the original cab

I have quickbooks error 1334 the file cannot be installed looked at the security settings, both the 'system' & 'everyone' users, all have admin rights. I have check all the paths, error 1334 the file ilxact3res.dll cannot be installed variables & the table editor, all looks correct. I have even repackaged the same app a second time around, the same error message appears but on a different file. One was an .exe and the https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/c866557f-6ee4-4d28-996b-de9267e30553/error-1334-file-cannot-be-found-in-the-data1cab?forum=winformssetup other a .dll. They have no com settings, no file extensions. I have removed both files from the MSI & re-added them, same error message appears. I have even remove the file from the package, but the error appears on a different file in the package. These packages, both compile & are validated correctly with NO errors being produced. I am installing the MSI package on another PC, with http://community.flexerasoftware.com/archive/index.php?t-100115.html admin rights. The error message appears when the msi is copying files. Can some one help me.......! nicholas_ong08-09-2002, 06:59 AMWhen you compiled your package, is it compressed or uncompressed? On installation, are you running it from a network location? Have you tried copying the entire MSI to your local drive and executing from there? Just a few suggestions, hope it helps. magpie08-11-2002, 11:55 PMThe package is compressed. The package is compiled on one PC, then I have shared this directory, then connected to it from the other PC. (How I normally do it) I then have copied it to the local drive, but it still isn't working Ughhh! nicholas_ong08-12-2002, 08:12 AMI feel for ya, btw what application is this? AlaksSevugan08-20-2002, 04:12 PMWhat is the name of the file that the MSi is displaying an error for? Did you make sure that file is in the cab? magpie09-09-2002, 07:04 PMThis error is produced when you have files that are in components and are not marked as 'key files' being copied to the [installdir]. For each error that occurs, you need to make a new component, add the file to it that is causing the errors, set it as a key file. Also, put the new componen

I installed Adobe Acrobat 7.0 to error 1334 an Admin Install Point. Then I updated the install point with the 7.05 update. Then I used the InstallShield Tuner 7.0 for Adobe Acrobat to create an install package for Adobe Acrobat 7.05. I did this same thing with Reader and Elements and they all worked just fine. However, during the installation of Adobe Acrobat 7.05, I receive the following error: "Error 1334: The file 'AcroIF.dll' cannot be installed because the cannot be installed file cannot be found in the cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with the package." I looked in the Data1.cab file and AcroIF.dll is not in there. However, I cannot find this file anywere. I even searched on a system that has Acrobat 7.0 installed. I tried to search for this file on the Internet and came up with no results. Has anyone seen this error before? I cannot figure out how to fix this issue. 7633Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 11 replies 1. I have not removed/added any file in the cabinet file. Am I doing anything wrong or if there is any other information that a cabinet file stores ?
