I have a software installation package which contains the .msi file, a CAB file and some MST files. I wanted to modify the cabinet file. So I extracted the cab file usingCABARCutility. But before making any changes to the extracted files, just for testing the utility I removed the original cab file from the current directory. And created a new cab file from the files extracted from the original cab file, again using CABARC utility. But now if I run the .msi file, it shows the error.

Receiving the error 1334 when applying the 10.1.3 update. swankydope Jul 11, 2012 3:54 PM I had the same error code when updating on multiple systems on our network. Most (except for 1) of the computers are windows 7 systems. We're using Acrobat X Standard and I was updating from error 1334 file 10.0.0 to 10.1.3. I ran the update on 30 systems and only had issues on 5 of them (1 windows xp). The other 25 system were running windows xp. I can not find any reliable information online on what this error means or how to fix it. I did try a suggestion from another site to try each incremental update from 10.0.1 through 10.1.3, but this failed as well. These machines are spread between 4 different offices and I am hoping there is a solution besides reloading the software from scratch (the disks and product keys stay with the computers). The specific error I receive says - "Error 1334. The file 'wcfirefoxextn.dll' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."I have redownloaded the install package a few times and still received the error. I have also attempted to use the update function within acrobat x. 3497Views Tags: none (add) Th

We now realized that AI used to package some files - d1,d2,d3 which are not needed. Therefore we removed them from our project and created an installer A2 which does not package the above mentioned unwanted files. (atleast thats what we expect) Things are ok when I use this installer the usual way...but when I use this for a silent install, I get the following error: Error 1334. The file d1 cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'myMedia1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. I googled this and saw that people usually encounter this whn u release a patch or some installer release where some files are removed or moved around. Apparently, msiexec tries to reference some cached version of these variables and since it still looks for the missing files in the new installer, install fails. Is there a way to tackle this? - like some way to have msiexec use just the .msi file I provide in the input rather some cached version. Thanks... wix msiexec share|improve this question asked Aug 6 '13 at 17:07 techieChamp 77113 1 Make sure you are using one of the established upgrade types and are implementing it correctly. Also make sure you are following the component design and change rules. If A1 is installed, and then A2 runs with the same PackageCode, ProductCode, and UpgradeCode the system thinks you are running t
