Ok, when playing the newly released Half Life 2 and Counter Strike Source on XP, it crashes and it comes up with this error message. What causes this error and how do I half life 2 episode 2 crash fix fix it? Thanks! There is in fact an error and it has to do with memory. You may or may not get this error message that looks like this: "The Instruction at "0x241f8977" referenced memory at "0x01cdf5c0". This memory could not be read". Here is the fix: First location: Right click your Half Life 2 icon on your desktop (the one you would normally double-click to launch the game). Then click Properties. Click the Shortcut Tab. In the line labeled Target, you will see something like this, depending on where you put the program when you installed it: "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 22 Copy and paste the following AFTER the above line: +mat_forcehardwaresync 0 +snd_async_prefetch_priority 1 Be sure there is a space between -applaunch 22 and +mat Click save and you are ready to go. I am at the part where im suppose to get some medicine from the Antlion Guardian aand when i get to the point where i go into a wooden room and then fall through into another place, when i walk forward the game crashes and i get thsi error messge: The instruction at "0x10528f3f" referenced memory at "0x0e51f3c0" . The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. I restarted the game again and the same thign happend. I decided to remove the local files for episode 2 on stema and reinstalled, but still the same thing happens. Can someone please help me. I really want to play this game. I have downloaded the lates Graphics, Sound and Direct Xdrivers. I have used diagnostic software and established there is not a fault with the memory itself. I have also played with refresh and acceleration. Windows XP Athlon 3000 64bit Geforce 4 Ti 4600 SB Live soundcard 512 MB DDR memory If anybody has encountered this problem and resolved it I would be grateful for any advice.
