Half Life Model Viewer Error Loading Model
catwoman and would like to use HLMV to see her, however I keep getting "ERROR LOADING MODEL", and then the program crashes. If it helps, heres the directory of where I put my models to view them: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\(mysteamname)\team fortress 2\tf\models C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\(mysteamname)\team fortress 2\tf\materials\models Reply 22nd January 2012 Post #2 God Of Steam January 2012 84 Posts Something is wrong with your model, Check if the smd exporter gives any error or if the compiler gives any errors. No errors, but quick question just to make sure, I should include all of the other extensions such as .phy and all of that right, or is it a waste of extra space for HLMV? Reply 22nd January 2012 Post #4 God Of Steam January 2012 84 Posts you need to have an idle animation even for a static prop. but you dont really need a collision mesh in order for a model to work without one it will basicly be like an effect inside of gmod. If it still doesnt work there is propably a problem with the geometry maybe the topology is bad or something else Reply 22nd January 2012 Post #5 wraithcat Gold Member December 2007 15,084 Posts YourFriendJoe posted: No errors, but quick question just to make sure, I should include all of the other extensions such as .phy and all of that right, or is it a waste of extra space for HLMV? Yes you need to include all the files. Also all the files need to be in the folder structure you compiled them to. If the original model was in models/yourmodel/yourmodel.mdl you can't just put it into models/yourmodel.mdl but it has to be in the full structure Reply Informative x 1 Useful x 1 (list) 22nd January 2012 Post #6 God Of Steam January 2012 84 Posts Oh he meant the compiled files silly me. I see a mod filter in Source FilmMaker, yes, but not the model viewer.Originally posted by EmperorFaiz.squid:Make sure you dont click any sub-folders or if you do, click the mdl on top of the listBut you have to click on sub-folders to go into them to reach the model you want to open.Originally posted by EmperorFaiz.squid:Check the filter box at the bottom....What "filter box"? I don't see a "filter box", nor do I get what you mean by "at the bottom". Well, I use it all the time in Source FilmMaker, but it doesn't exist in the model viewer. View Profile View Posts 1 Aug, 2015 @ 1:55am Thank you first but i am a chinese and i I can't fully understand you.
