Hochgeladen am 14.02.2011Without any program or any update installed, you can solve that half-life 2 (episode 1) problem (the referenced memory error). Just follow my instructions in the video!! Many people seem to have this issue, but this one is most similar to my https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cA5O44bdfAw problem (though his fix didn't work for me). http://forums.steampowered.com/forum...d.php?t=686407 Here's the symptoms. I used to play all of my games on Steam fine. I reinstalled Windows one day, and installing Steam and my many games was one of the first things I did. Since then, Half Life 2 would not work. I'd get the "Preparing to Launch Half Life 2..." box, and then nothing. I'd see the button for it on the taskbar for a second, http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733284 and the Task Manager would show hl2.exe, but then it'd instantly minimize/close. There are no errors. I soon found out other games were doing the same. I have a good deal of games on Steam (Valve Collection for starters), and most work fine, but it seems to be the Source engine games that do not. Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode 1, and Counter Strike Source do not work (may be others). However, Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half Life 2: Episode 2 work fine, and those are Source engine games. I read that the recent Source games use a newer Source 2007 engine. I figure this must be why they work (different engine). So, let's chalk it up that the original Source engine just isn't working for me. Here's what I've tried. This FAQ and many others. This FAQ My problem is the exact opposite, with OLDER Source games not working, while new ones work fine. Reinstalling said games (though they started at ~75% each time). Deleting ClientRegistry.blob. Verified the integrity of the game cache files. I have no anti-virus running (at all) that would possibly conflict. No background services (as of now with Steam and Firefox running, I have a mere 25 services open). Updated to the latest DirectX runtimes. Windows is up to date. Variable video card drivers make no difference. Tried

Jan 7 2013 News 17 comments With the announcement of From Earth people have been asking where the second episode of Human Error is, or what is even going on with half life it. Unfortunately, I have to say that another instalment of Human Error is very unlikely to happen at this point. It's not that I am not interested in continuing the story, or that I don't care about the characters. I would very much like to hear Phillip sing as Larson again. I'm sure we all would. It's a problem of what I have time for half life 2 and what I find most interesting. Making gameplay different from Half-Life 2, and setting the story in a world where I have no restrictions is more creative than doing a world set in the Half-Life 2 universe, where I always have to think around the Combine technology. From Earth is currently becoming, I think, bigger and better than Human Error. It’s going to be more refined and polished than HE ever was. And even once that’s done -- which could take some time -- there is little chance of me being able to turn my attention back to HE. I have been working on mods a while now and I am starting to seriously consider my entry into the industry itself. After From Earth is done, I hope to be either working at a games company or on a small indie game of my own. I would probably have no time, energy, or permission to work on HE EP2, or any mod for that matter, at the same time. Originally I planned to include a small section here detailing all the different design iterations for the second episode of Human Error, but af
