A quick Google search indicated that this is a fairly common message and the only remedy is replacement of the head unit. I guess you will have to take it to the dealer if you are still under warranty. Otherwise, a trip to most any audio shop should be able to replace the head unit. __________________ 09 Jetta Sportwagen, Blue Graphite Metallic, DSG, Sunroof, Rubber mats, Zeta Products body color side moldings, Body color door edge guards, VW front and rear Splash Guards, Clear rear bumper protector, 8" "Stubby" antenna. Lighthat New Member Joined: Feb 26, 2014 Messages: 16 Car: 2006 Jetta TDI Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida I have the CDC Hardware Error on my head unit in a 2006 jetta TDI, and as far as I know I have to change it to fix it. But it keeps making a clicking sound, which I assume is the mechanism trying to get back into place but is unable to. This clicking sound happens constantly, and it's very annoying. It happens even when the car is off. Is there any way to disconnect the CD changer itself without disconnecting the entire head unit? Maybe insert a disk and see if that stops it. Sounds like it keeps trying to eject? I think youll need a whole new head unit, because they are pretty much unservicable. xeno555, Aug 25, 2014 at 5:48 PM #2 Lighthat New Member Joined: Feb 26, 2014 Messages: 16 Car: 2006 Jetta TDI Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida It doesn't sound like it's trying to eject, it sounds like the CD changer is continuously rotating to change CDs. I took a screwdriver and put it into the slot (I don't use CDs so I don't necessarily care right now) and I could feel the mechanism hitting the screwdriver. I'm not too worried about fixing it, I just want to stop it from making noise. It's difficult to explain, I'll see if I can get a video of it to explain what I'm talking about if I wasn't clear enough. What stereo do you have? xeno555, Aug 25, 2014 at 10:34 PM #4 Lighthat New Member Joined: Feb 26, 2014 Messages: 16 Car: 2006 Jetta TDI Location: Deerfield Beach, Florida It's the changer built into the head unit, which is the stock head unit that came with the car. Although it seems I've made it stop for now...I wiggled the screwdriver around a bit and it stopped cycling. Lighthat, Aug 26, 2014 at 9
