Did anyone ever get a solution on how to fix this or do we need to contact customer service? We missed season finales of a lot of the shows we normally watch, and then last week it did not record a show after setting it up only 2 weeks earlier. Some of these were set up using the website, some through the DVR itself. I had to do that when I gotComcast cable/DVR/internet in the first place, and it was such a long, drawn out process with so many people giving me contradictory information.Plus, the discount I was promised due to inconveniences was never made note of, so I didn't even get that additional money taken off my bill. As a result, I am watching a bunch of HD channels for the first time, and have shifted my series recordings to the HD channels. Now I don't know whether the problem dvr fatal hardware is with the new Comcast update or if it's related to the HD programming.I'm stumped. I canceled and reset the series recording. I won't know if it worked until next Tuesday, though :PI did find a "DVR Management" option in the DVR menu -- must be something new. There was a "DVR History" option and for those specific items it reported "Not recorded due to a fatal hardware error".Do you think maybe I should haul this STB back to Comcast and get a new one? · actions · 2010-Feb-25 6:26 pm · The Qjoin:2008-06-26Collegeville, PA The Q Member 2010-Feb-25 11:08 p

I think the PVR is about 2 years old . it works fine in all other regards ..I have had it reset remotely and I unplugged it to clear & reset .short of messing with any coeds I am at a loss the only thing I can think of is to get a way from the standard PVR and go with the new gateway system .Thank you for your time ..Have A Nice Day No one else has this questionMark as assumed answeredOutcomesVisibility: TV Forum1630 ViewsLast modified on Apr 11, 2013 6:45 PMTags:pvrContent tagged with pvrdigital_boxContent tagged with digital_boxThis content has been marked as final. But if we've swapped out your PVRs and you're getting this error on the new PVRs too, I'm wondering if there is something else going on here. Does the error pop up randomly or at certain times of the day? How do you fix it -- does it have to be reset by Shaw every time or does pulling the power cord do the trick?LanceCommunity Moderator1 person found this helpfulLike • Show 0 Likes0 Actions wolfdarkstar @ null on Apr 16, 2013 4:22 PMMark CorrectCorrect AnswerHi it happens randomly and I don't have to re set the device .
