If I take that same dsn and then say for it to use SQL authentication and create a user in SQL, the connection fails. The error states that either the server doesn't exist or access is restricted. If I try to run the report I get the error listed in my subject line. Where does one set the security to allow login from an ODBC source?thanks RE: error 599 cannot connect to SQL Durango122 (MIS) 12 Jan 06 12:54 hiread as followThis is a kno

NC#1 / 1 Error 599 "Cannot open SQL Server" when running ODBC report after setting parameters Hi All, I'm using CR8.0 and I have created a report based on a query through ODBC. The query have several parameters. What I try to do is to programmatically generate the report using the Crystal Print Engine APIs (PE* functions) in VB. What I do is Open the print engine and report Use PEGetNthParameterField and PEAddParameterCurrentValue to set the parameter Generate the report... I always get the error 599 "Cannot open SQL Server" when I call PEStartPrintJob. If I haven't set the parameters in the code, things are fine. The parameter dialog comes up, and once I enter the parameters value, the report is generated. So, this problem only happens after I set the parameters but setting the parameters returns no error. Is anyone have any idea of this problem? Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks Fri, 12 Dec 2003 04:14:13 GMT Page 1 of 1 [ 1 post ] Relevant Pages 1. "Cannot open SQL Server" 2.
