FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive i am using ubuntu 10.04, when i checked the partition table using cfdisk command, that error displays. By the way, it is newly formatted. I also tried using fdisk -l command, and everything seems ok! But why is that on the cfdisk, there is an error?? Can anyone explain this?? It really bothers me. What did i do wrong? How can i fix it? thnx! Reply With Quote 08-24-2011 #2 ioanna83 View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message View Articles Just Joined! Join Date Aug 2011 Posts 36 I wouldn't use cfdisk because it has lots of bugs. One of those bugs is that it can't handle multiple SATA drives. You need to unplug all of them an leave only the one you want to partition. Just use fdisk instead. While installing the android x86, I get an error as "FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive Press any key to exist cfdisk" While installing android x86 in the debug mode, there is no hard drives found. But in virtualbox, in debug mode, the hard disk is listed when dmesg command is executed. Has anyone faced similar problem??? Can u guys give any suggestions?? Do I have to provide more info?? edit retag flag offensive close merge delete CommentsI tried some other iso images and couldn't get them working, but I guess you've to mount the iso and create an image, enhance it with cloud-init and import it to glance (just an idea :-)). It would be helpful if you could provide the link to the iso which you're trying to import.cloudssky( 2014-03-11 13:25:48 -0500 )editHi, Can you guide how you are trying to achieve this?
