your OpenGL project open Project -> Properties -> Configuration Properties -> Linker -> Input -> Additional Dependencies -> add glew32.lib. Also you must include #include in your sources; For that add path to your glew folder: Project -> Properties -> Configuration Properies -> General -> VC++ Directories -> Include Directories and Library Directories; C/C++ Tab -> General -> Additional Include Directories - Add lib folder there I have also added the glew32.dll onto my Debug folder within my project folder along with the executable. So far I keep getting this error. If you need any more further clarification of the steps I have done please don't hesitate to ask c++ opengl visual-studio-2012 glew share|improve this question edited Jan 1 '14 at 21:59 genpfault 35.5k83776 asked Jan 1 '14 at 21:12 BDillan 1,10121636 I don't know how to format the quote - if a moderator can fix this for me –BDillan Jan 1 '14 at 21:15 What happens if you temporarily copy .lib file to some existing valid directory, like $(WindowsSdkDir)\lib? –Dialecticus Jan 1 '14 at 21:27 Do

No code has been written yet; Only project settings have been changed. When I compile the project, I receive the following fatal error: fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'C:\Program.obj' visual-c++ linker share|improve this question http://stackoverflow.com/questions/133698/why-does-fatal-error-lnk1104-cannot-open-file-c-program-obj-occur-when-i-c edited Sep 25 '08 at 14:35 asked Sep 25 '08 at 14:29 Josh Sklare 2,39921417 add a comment| 13 Answers 13 active oldest votes up vote 114 down vote accepted This particular issue is caused by specifying a dependency to a lib file that had spaces in its path. The path needs to be surrounded by quotes for the project to compile correctly. On the Configuration Properties -> Linker -> Input tab of the project’s properties, there is an Additional Dependencies property. This issue was fixed by changing this property from: C:\Program Files\sofware sdk\lib\library.lib To: " C:\Program Files\sofware sdk\lib\library.lib" share|improve this answer edited Sep 25 '08 at 14:40 answered Sep 25 '08 at 14:33 Josh Sklare 2,39921417 11 God you've just hanged two day's bug chase to 30 second one :) –jb. If your Linker is correct but your lib directory is set incorrectly the same error may come up. Try looking in Configuration Properties

Tue, 06/25/2013 - 07:17 I cannot open have a Visual Studio Fortran project that creates a library called MyLibrary.lib that can be used by Fortran and C++ programs. Then, I have a C++ test program that uses this MyLibrary.lib. However, when I compile and link this test program in Visual Studio on a computer that does lnk1104 cannot open NOT have ifort installed on it, the Visual Studio throws the following error: LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'ifmodintr.lib' My problem is the following:I do not want the user of the test program to add ifmodintr.lib. Therefore, I added ifmodintr.lib in the "Additional Dependencies" in the Fortran project that creates MyLibrary.lib. But this does not have any effect. My question is:How can I link ifmodintr.lib in MyLibrary.lib (in the Fortran project) so that a C++ uses will not have to need ifmodintr.lib on his or her computer.
