The only thing about that error or 'cab' that I could find is this: Restart Steam, click on File - 'Check for Steam client updates' and make sure it's fully updated, then run the installer again. Is Steam the only program that can't connect to the internet? But in my case I can't start steam in the first place, so any fix with that in it work work for me. For me it all started when I renamed the ClientRegistry.blob file to see if that would fix the problem of some of my games not being able to start. Steam hasn't worked since then. It tries to install itself every time I start it up but can't find the .msi, so I downloaded it from Steams homepage and now this. Steam is so screwed up right now, I moved my steamapps folder onto a backup, and now I'm posting here, hoping I won't have to reinstall. 12-15-2009, 12:42 PM #4 Lurpsukka Join Date: Dec 2009 Reputation: 314 Posts: 2,294 Quote: Originally Posted by RawMeat3000 I'm getting the exact same error message. The file ‘Support.url' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file ‘Cabs.w1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. Why couldn't I have had the 3rd error lower down on the list if it's not going to play nicely? 24 February, 2010 at 11:44 #11309 Random RobParticipant It's bad enough I've lost all saved data for a shit load of games, but REALLY fucking annoying that the updater for re-install it taking it's sweet arsed time 👿 24 February, 2010 at 12:55 #11310 simooooooParticipant It looses your data aswell!!! wuh-duh-fuh?
