So http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18377826/error-1334-file-cannot-be-found-in-the-data1-cab I extracted the cab file using CABARC utility. But before making any changes to the extracted files, just for testing the utility I removed the original cab file from the current directory. And created a new cab file from the files extracted from the original cab file, again using CABARC utility. But now if I run the .msi file, it shows the error: ERROR:1334. The file "XYZ" cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in the cabinet file Data1.cab. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. But the file is present in the cabinet file I can see that. The same installer is working fine with the original cab file. I have tried different compression types (MSZIP, LZX:<15...21>) as well, but none of them work. I have not removed/added any file in the cabinet file. Am I doing anything wrong or if there is any other information that a cabinet file stores ? Thanks. windows wix windows-installer installer cab share|improve this ques
Windows Installer (MSI) Error Messages This is the result of my struggle on Error 1334. I got this message in the log file. I am using Wise for Windows Installer 6 to create my http://www.itninja.com/question/error-1334 package. The file 'BASPath.ini' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'cab.5'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this http://community.installshield.com/archive/index.php?t-87913.html package. This is the background Create an .msi and include a file, you can call it BasPath.ini. This file is unic for every bransch. We have one Base product and about 9 bransches. The file error 1334 BasPath.ini keeps importend information for each bransch. Make a transform and replase the BasPath.ini to the version for the bransch. (Drop the file in the transform and add the new one.) Install, and you will enconter MSI error 1334. What does this error try to tell me Then I make an transform, there are some interneal cabinets created in the tabel Cabs. This cabs are the same as the components installshield error 1334 in the .msi. Every cab will therefore have a key. This error try to tell me, that it can not found the key in the Cab 5. I.E. the key of the component there BasPath.ini is the key can not be found. To solwe this I hade to add a dummy file to my .msi and set the key on the dummy, then everything worked without any problems. If there is, say three ini-files, which needs to be changed it can be done by changing one file, set the key to the new file and when change the other files. Is there any one else who have enconterd this problem? Do anone know of a better way to solwe this problem? Regards, Paul Juhlin. Error 1334: Can't find CAB file entry during installation NewsArchive11-19-2001, 01:00 AMHi, Because of unknown changes at our installation, we get an error. During the file copying phase there appears an error window. There is notified that the cab file is corrupted(Error 1334). The problem is, that the installation tried to copy a file with a wrong entry name in the MSI-File. For example, the instalaltion tried to copy the file F1111_a.txt, but the entry in the CAB file is F9999_a.txt . There is a difference between the file pointer in the installation file (*.msi) and the entry in the cab file. How can we solve that problem? We've tried the following without any success: * First update the files of that component * Delete the notified file and add them again to that component. * Change the GUI code of that component. With all that trials the error will not disappear. The file pointer in the msi file is still wrong and the installation is interrupted.
