This has https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/c866557f-6ee4-4d28-996b-de9267e30553/error-1334-file-cannot-be-found-in-the-data1cab?forum=winformssetup been in use for many months. We now realized that AI used to package some files - d1,d2,d3 which are not needed. Therefore we removed them from our project and created an installer A2 which does not package the above mentioned unwanted files. (atleast thats what we expect) Things are ok when I use this installer the usual way...but when I use this for a silent install, I get the following error: Error 1334. The http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18086314/error-1334-from-installer file d1 cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'myMedia1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. I googled this and saw that people usually encounter this whn u release a patch or some installer release where some files are removed or moved around. Apparently, msiexec tries to reference some cached version of these variables and since it still looks for the missing files in the new installer, install fails. Is there a way to tackle this? - like some way to have msiexec use just the .msi file I provide in the input rather some cached version. Thanks... wix msiexec share|improve this question asked Aug 6 '13 at 17:07 techieChamp 82113 1 Make sure you are using one of the established upgrade types and are implementing it correctly. Also make sure you are following the component design and change rules. If A1 is installed, and then A2 runs with the same PackageCode, ProductCode, and UpgradeCode the system

Not with XP, or Vista. It tells me that error 1334 a file is missing from a cab. If I turn CAB compression off, then the problem goes away. I have downloaded via AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi and AdbeRdrUpd1012.msp, and then used the command: msiexec /p AdbeRdrUpd1012.msp /a AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi to create an AIP. I also used the Adobe Customisation tool to create an mst for EULA, silent install etc. (I copied a setup.ini from an expanded exe version) On attempting to deploy on windows 7 I'm getting: Product: Adobe Reader X (10.1.2) -- Error 1334.The file 'adobearmhelper.exe' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package. I have tried an number of things, e.g. right clicking the msi to install and still get the same result. Any ideas? 0 Comments [ + ] Show Comments Comments Please log in to comment Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,so that the conversation will remain readable. Answers 0 The strange thing here is that, since you made an AIP for your installation, this would mean all files would be external to the MSI Have you taken the 2 step approach like this: 1) create an AIP of the base MSI using MSIEXEC.EXE /a
