Domain Not Available Windows 7
vote Hi all, I hope someone has an answer to this network connection problem. I set up my the system cannot log you on because the domain is not available server 2003 server with AD, DHCP, DNS and WINS. I defined the policies for each including I addresses and domain name. I automatically assign IP adresses to clients as they connect from domain not available windows xp the DHCP address range. DHCP is functional on each client in that a connection is made and an IP ddress is assigned. However, I can only log on to the DNS domainby using the system administrator login (Microsoft Networking logon). This is how I confirmed that DHCP was working on each client. to log back in with a registered user account, it says "Domain not available". Anyone experience this before? Possible that you are using cached credentials to logon using the domain admin account. Please make sure that your server points to its private IP address as primary DNS server and 127.0.0.1 as secondary one. Once done, run ipconfig /registerdns and restart netlogon on each DC you have. Make sure that the DC has one IP address and one NIC card in use. For client computers, make them use your DC as a primary DNS server, flush DNS cache using ipconfig /flushdns and make sure that needed ports for AD authentication are not blocked:http://msmvps.com/blogs/rexiology/archive/2006/04/05/89389.aspx This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. These workstations are part of the domain, however, when a is not available domain user tries to authenticate and logon to the domain from one of these workstations they cannot login and receive the following error message: Windows cannot connect to the domain either because the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear contact your System Administrator for assistance. This error is received even though the computer account for the workstation and user account for the user both exist. This or error may appear when a PC is replaced with another computer with the same computer name without first deleting the duplicate computer name from the Active Directory domain before joining the new workstation to the domain with the same duplicate name. The funny part is that the symptom may either appear immediately at the first try, or even after a few successful logons. The cause of the error is usually related to security identifier (SID) issues. Another possible cause for the error is that t
