problem. I keep dropping connection to the internet. Sometimes it will work for an extended period of time. Other times it won't work at all or just for a second or two. There is a lot going the default gateway is not available windows 10 on so i will try to keep organized. -I am connecting via Wi-Fi to a Ubee (Time Warner) modem. -My other laptop and phone have zero problems. -This laptop in question is a Dell XPS L502X. Running windows 7 home premium 64 Bit. -The network adapter is an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230. -The ONLY way it will work 100% is in safe mode. What i tried: -Disabling AVG. -Disabling Windows Firewall. -Disabling both the default gateway is not available windows 10 ethernet at the same time. -Resetting both the Laptop and modum. -Re-entering the password to insure accuracy. Errors: When i do "Trouble shoot problems" it is completely random. Sometimes an error, sometimes nothing. Here are the most common results. -Shows no issue. -The default gateway is not available (Shows fixed next to it). -Windows cant communicate with the device or resource [Primary DNS] (Shows not-fixed, but if i troubleshoot again it will show no issue. -The communication between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken. (well that is not true. My other stuff is working just fine at the same exact time.) It has to be something running if it works in safe mode. But i tried disabling almost everything (Ending different processes) with no success. Any suggestions? and I got this message So I tried using IE and Safari, but no dice. I honestly don't know what a DNS is, but I've been looking around other forums, and one thing http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1888233/internet-works-intermittently-default-gateway-errors.html I DID try was "nslookup" in cmd, and I didn't get an IP back. I'm really not good with computers, so if anyone can help while dumbing it down, that'd be great. Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top vistamike Posts: 10945 This post has been reported. XMasterOfKtuluX, hi DNS is the domain name server which has an ip address with a load of digits that http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/dns-problem-cant-connect-to-internet-wirelessly is unintelligble to even me. However they are strict to enable the connection to that site. So this would point to your router/modem. Some things you could try and not necessarily in this order... 1. Open cmd, and type ipconfig /flushdns (press enter and close) 2. Shutdown your modem/router for 5 mins then reenable 3. Clear all your cookies in Chrome and other browsers Mike Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top ispalten Posts: 6259 This post has been reported. Well WWW.FACEBOOK.COM does exist. A question, is this the ONLY site you can't reach? A DNS server is a server that provides the translation of WWW.sitename.type into the 4 octet address IP4V internet understands. There are a few things to try... One would be to enter the IP Address of Facebook into your URL address line, and that is 69.171.228.13 which should bring up the page. If it DOESN'T, disable your FIREWALL and A/V for a short period (put it to sleep for 5 minutes). If it comes up, one of those two is blocking it. Look in the logs or settings. If it STILL fails, well, then other sites you shouldn't be able to get to because you probably

a solid green light? The Internet Gateway requires an internet connection to access the MyQ server. If the Internet Gateway is not connecting to the MyQ server, the issue could be due to the router, modem or Internet connection failure. The green LED light on the Internet Gateway indicates the status of the Internet connection. If the gateway is not connected to the router, the green LED light will be off. If the green LED light is flashing on andoff, the Internet Gateway is connected to the router, but cannot connect to the Internet or MyQ server. To resolve issues with the Internet Gateway connecting to the MyQ server 1. Determine if you can connect to the Internet using your computer. If you cannot connect, proceed tostep 2. 2. Reset the router.Unplug the router for 30 seconds and plug back in. It can take a few minutes to reconnect to the internet. Make sure that the Internet Gateway is plugged into a LAN port, normally numbered 1-4. Proceed to step 4 if none of the ports work. 4. If you are using a modem and a router, disconnect from the router and plug the Internet Gateway directly into a LAN port in the modem to bypass the router. Note: This will turn off the internet to the rest of your home network temporarily. If this works: •Check your router compatibility. •Contact the manufacturer of your router for additional support. There may be a security setting preventing the Internet Gateway to connect. 5. If step 4 doesnt work, powercycleyour home's internetmodem, it may need to be restarted toprovide a new IP address to your network. 6.Perform a Soft Reset on the Internet Gateway. This renews the IP address with the router. The LED lights will blink like a normal power up. To perform a soft reset: 1. With a safety pin or paper clip, press and hold reset button while the Internet Gateway is still plugged in. Note: The reset b
