Domain not available Windows Server > Directory Services Question 0 Sign in domain not available windows 7 to vote Hi all, I hope someone has an answer to this network connection problem. I set up the system cannot log you on because the domain is not available server 2003 my server with AD, DHCP, DNS and WINS. I defined the policies for each including I addresses and domain name. I automatically assign IP adresses to clients as they

connect from the DHCP address range. DHCP is functional on each client in that a connection is made and an IP ddress is assigned. However, I can only log on to the DNS domainby using the system administrator login (Microsoft Networking logon). This is how I confirmed that DHCP was working on each client. However when I log off administrator

Possible that you are using cached credentials to logon using the domain admin account. Please make sure that your server points to its private IP address as primary DNS server and 127.0.0.1 as secondary one. Once done, run ipconfig /registerdns and restart netlogon on each DC you have. Make sure that the DC has one IP address and one NIC card in use. For client computers, make them use your DC as a primary DNS server, flush DNS cache using ipconfig /flushdns and make sure that needed ports for AD authentication are not blocked:http://msmvps.com/blogs/rexiology/archive/2006/04/05/89389.aspx This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights. 16, 20075 0 0 0 Issue came in this week where when you attempted to logon to a server it would not authenticate your request and would give smart card logon the domain specified is not available you a message indicating the "domain is not available". If you

tried logging on via your UPN, then it wouldgive a slightly different error messageindicating that "there is the system could not log you on the domain specified is not available windows 7 not enough storage to complete this operation". After ruling out DNS and routing,I had the person run nltest /sc_query:BRADFOREST to see what DC it was pointing at and found https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/6ca577c6-6333-4cfe-84f3-df0b6a55d470/server-2003xp-domain-not-available?forum=winserverDS that it did not have a secure channel to a DC which might be a reason we can't authenticate to the server. 🙂 When we tried to reset thesecure channelit would fail with error code 8 (ERROR_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY).) So we cranked up netlogon debug logging and then I repro'd the issue again. We could then see this in the https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/brad_rutkowski/2007/08/16/domain-not-available-when-trying-to-ts-onto-a-windows-2003-server/ netlogon debug log: 08/14 22:55:06 [SESSION] BRADFOREST: NlSetServerClientSession: New DC is an NT 5 DC: \\brad-dc-01.bradforest.local08/14 22:55:06 [SESSION] BRADFOREST: NlSetServerClientSession: New DC is in closest site: \\brad-dc-01.bradforest.local08/14 22:55:06 [SESSION] BRADFOREST: NlSetServerClientSession: New DC runs the time service: \\brad-dc-01.bradforest.local08/14 22:55:06 [SESSION] BRADFOREST: NlSetServerClientSession: New discovery flags: 0x1dc; Old flags: 0x008/14 22:55:06 [SESSION] BRADFOREST: NlDiscoverDc: Found DC \\brad-dc-01.bradforest.local08/14 22:55:06 [SESSION] BRADFOREST: NlStartApiClientSession: Bind to server \\brad-dc-01.bradforest.local (TCP) 0 (Retry: 0).08/14 22:55:06 [MAILSLOT] Going to wait on mailslot.
