My screen went black with a "Out of Range" error and once i get https://steamcommunity.com/app/8930/discussions/0/864973577895855925/ this i have to reboot. Can't alt+tab or anything. I get theese on certain games where the resoultion is in a size that my monitor don't like. Is there any way i can configure graphics and resolution options for the Civ 5 Demo outside the game? My monitor is a: BenQ E2200HD D-SUB The game works fine in the DirectX 9 version although the resoultion was 1360xXXX something. Anyone have any clue http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1440177 why the Dx10 version won't work? Faulty driver? That's what might be the issue. You're right. In the My Games folder in Documents and Settings. Civ V folder. File: GraphicsSettingsDX9.ini (will have a slightly different name for you on a DX11 machine) You can change a few things there. Try running windowed. I don't see where to set Hertz, only resolution. Range bug Ashbinder08-05-2014, 07:16 PMGreetings. I have recently purchased this screen and it seems to have a very annoying bug. Some games, when set to Fullscreen (Which is https://rog.asus.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-50213.html a prerequisite of G-Sync) Mode display an "Out Of Range" message. So far, http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/707668/civilization-5-errors-crashes-and-glitches-some-solutions/ two games are affected: Path Of Exile and Torchlight 2. Currently using the latest Nvidia driver 340.52 on a GTX 780. I have tried to install several different older drivers with the same result. The funny part is that both games WORKED a few days ago without this problem! I haven't changed a single setting prior out of to them "malfunctioning" in this manner. With Path of Exile, when the message is displayed, I can ALT+TAB out and back in, and the game is displayed fine...for a time. Then it will randomly display it again. I'd appreciate a resolution to this problem as it makes G-Sync non-functional. Kind regards, Ash MarshallR08-06-2014, 03:46 AMAs Nvidia is iteratively updating its drivers to make GSync better, 340.52 (or, latest) is definitely out of range recommended. Just those two titles or all games? Did they receive any (Steam?) updates recently? Are you running 60/120/144? At 2560x1440? (In the game settings as well?) What about if you turn down the in game resolution? Just trying to isolate the issue. Out of range sounds like some sort of a rendering issue with the game engine, but if it worked before it makes no sense... Ashbinder08-06-2014, 07:26 PMThis is the most random bug I've ever encountered! I've played both Path of Exile and Torchlight 2 today, and both worked in full screen. Then when I was playing WoW, all of a sudden I started getting the same thing in that game as well! I tried both 1080p and 120hz instead of the usual 144hz, but the problem still persisted. I don't see evidence of widespread reports of problems with the game, but it is a big launch, and the endless variation of PC builds out there ensures that there will be some problems with installing and running the strategy game, so below, please find some fixes to some of the most common problems I've seen with Civilization 5. Here are some of the most common problems out there, as well as some solutions/suggestions for fixing them. Step One: Make sure your PC is powerful enough to run the game.
