Thankfully someone got back to me and the I managed to implement the code on the worksheet and everything has been working fine since. However my work are now in the process of upgrading both the OS (from http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/showthread.php?43577-Run-Time-Error-7-Out-of-memory-Issues XP to Windows 7) and MS Office (from 2003 to 2010), I have been testing the spreadsheet to see if it is affected and everytime I run the code on the newer Windows 7 system I get a 'Run time error 7, out of memory' message and excel just shuts down. I have attached a copy of the worksheet and the code that I am having the issue with. When I step through the code it seems to hang up on; '\\ Create the Range Picture Object OleCreatePictureIndirect uPicinfo, IID_IDispatch, True, IPic So in Summary; Spreadsheet created using Windows XP and Excel 2003 = Works fine Run spreadsheet using Windows 7 and Excel 2010 = Run Time Error 7 Run spreadsheet using Windows 7 and Excel 2003 = Run Time Error 7 Does anyone have any ideas? Are you running 64 bit Win 7? If so try changing user32 to user64 in the code as a gues

When i try to execute the following line of VBA code I get an "out of memory" error: Code: Form_Confirmation.txtDept = cboDept.Text Before this line of out of code I don't query any data or open any DAO connections, Im only checking the entered values in various text boxes and combo boxes on a form. I have also tried rebooting my computer and it still gets stuck at the same line. What i basically want to do is just move data entered into text boxes on a shipping order form i created and present that data on another form to confirm out of memory the entered data. The error occurs when i try to move data from one form to another. The database is still only 1MB with only 5 tables, each with only a few records in them just for testing. Do i need to install a service pack or download something to fix this error? chshiba View Public Profile Find More Posts by chshiba 04-11-2007, 12:00 PM #2 WayneRyan AWF VIP Join Date: Nov 2002 Location: Camarillo, CA Posts: 7,064 Thanks: 4 Thanked 54 Times in 52 Posts C, The reference "cboDept.Text" is only valid in the OnChange event for cboDept. It is not a valid elsewhere. You can substitute .Value (for the .Text), but that's the default anyway. Excel 2007-2016 users tend to see them more than Excel 2003 users. Microsoft re-wrote large portions of Excel when they released 2007. This re-write appears to have affected memory usage. The conclusion we reached from the much testing is that COM add-ins are the major cause of memory issues. COM add-ins sneak onto your PC without permission (or clearly asking). Routinely check and remove them. The two COM add-ins we have seen that cause memory issues are Adobe and Blue Tooth. We have never seen a need for them in Excel. They should be removed immediately. COM add-ins are compiled computer code that manages their own memory. Often at the expense of Excel, especially if they are badly written. Ususally you can run one COM add-in without issues. Two is like walking on thin ice. Three or more - just wait for the crash. It will happen. VBA add-ins (the kind we write) are not compiled and are called Excel add-ins and do not cause memory issues. Excel manages memory for them. We have had all of our add-ins open at one time and no memory issues. The following are steps one can
