Indesign Cs6 Out Of Memory
out of memory condition (Joe) Dec 8, 2008 5:30 AM Hi, system: Windows XP, 2 GM RAM, Indesign CS3 I placed two files in Indesign: the first is .ai (1.1 MB, probably exported form a CAD program), the second is .psd (53 MB). When I try to print to .ps file, Indesign displays the message: "Export error: error due to out of memory condition". If I: 1. export to PDF, everything is OK, 2. rasterize .ai in Photoshop, then import the resulting .psd to Indesign, print to .ps file is OK. Does somebody has an answer to my problem? 11003Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 15 replies 1. Re: Error due to out of memory condition Peter Spier Dec 8, 2008 9:13 AM (in response to (Joe)) Try copying and pasting all the elements from the .ai into a new .ai file and resave. It could be something hokey about how the original was made. Peter Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Error due to out of memory condition (Joe) Dec 9, 2008 4:34 AM (in response to (Joe)) Peter, thank you for your suggestion. I followed your advice and copied everything from the existing file to a new one and imported the new file, but nothing changed. Even more, following your suggestion, that there i

It seems to be related to PageMaker files that were opened into InDesign. The same file can sometimes be printed from another computer. Larger InDesign files created from scratch do not (so far) generate this error. The majority of the machines are running 10.3.8 and have at least 1.5 GB of memory. Tiger was installed on the one laptop but the error is still occuring. Suggestions? Thanks! john #1 johnawine, Jul 6, 2005 biff1of1 uix_expand uix_collapse Registered Joined: May 22, 2005 Messages: 43 Likes Received: 0 A little more info plz. I am forced to kill both InDesign and Distiller with Task Manager. I am using "print booklet" with a out of memory document preset and a pdf preset. InDesign CS4 on Windows7 x64, i5 with 16gb RAM and 2gb GPU. I have a RAM meter, but the RAM meter never even reaches 1/4 (lots of RAM). Like I say, it works once, but locks up the second run. What memory is it out of? adobe-indesign share|improve this question asked Jan 14 '13 at 23:01 bgmCoder 88141540 1 It could be a bug in InDesign. Did you run updates on it? –Bigbio2002 Jan 14 '13 at 23:36 I have, it's CS4. I don't remember having this problem with CS4 a month ago. –bgmCoder Jan 14 '13 at 23:41 Maybe it's a plugin or other addin. –Bigbio2002 Jan 15 '13 at 0:01 You're out of ram. –Frank Jun 1 '14 at 23:58 I suppose if the RAM meter ever maxed out (did you read my question?) I might think that too. –bgmCoder Jun 2 '14 at 13:14 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote I believe Indesign CS4 is a 32bit application, so even though your system has lots of RAM, InDesign cannot use more than about 3.5GB. Apple have a page in reference to this error and how to fix it http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25701 October 28, 2015 at 5:46 am #79044 C SupportMember Hi. That article is very useful, though, we're running into this issue on El Capitan and I can not find where that setting is as it seems to have been removed from Get Info. Would you guys happen to know where this setting is now in El Capitan? How do I increase the Application Memory Size in El Capitan then per apps? October 28, 2015 at 6:05 am #79045 David BlatnerKeymaster Wow, I haven't seen that for a long time. There hasn't been a way to change application memory size for over 10 or 15 years, I think! Are you getting application out of memory errors? Check to make sure you have several gigabyte of free hard drive space, too. October 28, 2015 at 9:17 am #79053 C SupportMember Yes, that is what we are having on some files, and we have loads of RAM, storage and everything else in between available. However, rebooting the computer sorts the issue out. The designer was working on a massive InDesign file previously, which he had closed, but I'm suspecting that either the softwa
