What are the other likely causes? vb6 stack stack-overflow share|improve this question edited Mar 29 '12 at 7:00 asked Mar 29 '12 at 6:48 CJ7 4,98232113219 I think the question is valid without code. In this case, if he knew the relevent code that caused the problem then http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9920364/likely-cause-of-out-of-stack-space-in-vb6 he wouldn't need to ask the question. Though obviously a general question only gets general errors. For my two cents, I'd ask if you trapped the error in the debugger and inspected the call stack yet? –tcarvin Mar 29 '12 at 12:03 @tcarvin: the error has not yet occurred in the debugger. Only on site. Unfortunately (and obviously) the code does not have proper error handling so a run-time error is all I have. –CJ7 Mar 29 '12 at 12:46 Assuming you have had a good description of the steps to reproduce the error, but you can't reproduce it on your development machines, and after reading the relevant code nothing obvious stands out. Then you need to add some logging and some error handling and send a new build to the site so they can reproduce it and then send back the logs. –MarkJ Mar 29 '12 at 16:19 @MarkJ: Yes, that is a good plan, but what if time is of the essence? If I need to quickly find out what the cause of this error in a module without deploying a new build to a site, what should I be looking for in the code? –CJ7 Apr 5 '12 at 11:23 1 @CraigJ Martin's answer is good. I understand that Out of stack space means something is continuously pushing data onto the stack and when it gets full the stack has no more space. Can any one help on how to go about fixing this error? The problem occurs in the following scenario: I have around 20 Property Get and Set Statements in my code and this problem occurs when my code tries to assign out of stack a value (lets say for 9th property) Public Property Get Language() As String Language = m_strLanguage End Property Public Property Let Language(ByVal strLanguage As String) m_strLanguage = strLanguage End Property My code goes in to a recursive loop. vb6 share|improve this question edited Feb 25 '10 at 9:13 Anton Gogolev 78k26148245 asked Feb 25 '10 at 9:03 user171476 624 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Do you have a logic error that's causing a recursive loop? Have you looked back down the call stack to see why the recursive loop is occurring? share|improve this answer answered Feb 25 '10 at 9:14 MarkJ 24.9k34878 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Thanks for your suggestions. You were right . I have fixed the problem and the code is now running fine. The problem was with how the Let property was set : I have passed the wrong variable which is now corrected. Public Property Let Language(ByVal strLanguage As String) Language = strLanguage End Property which made the code to go an recursive loop, The correct code is: Public Property Let Language(ByVal strLanguage As String) m_strLanguage= strLanguage End Property share|improve this answer edited Feb 25 '10 at 17:38 quamrana 8,26452543 answered Feb 25 '10 at 9:37 user171476 624 add a comment| Your Answer dra
