I run my website on dedicated server with 8GB memory. I am fully aware that I need to raise the memory limit http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12015569/fatal-error-out-of-memory-but-i-do-have-plenty-of-memory-php on php.ini setting. Getting this number from echo memory_get_peak_usage(); The resultset from MySQL is small (at most 12 of rows, purely text, no blob data) (Important) If I restart Apache once every two days, the error is gone. It usually happens when Apache is running more than 2 days. I have included the profiling the script and you can get it here. This dedicated server is purely used to run only one website. This website is a high traffi

So lots of plugins, busy site, resource intensive code in plugin or themes, etc. You may like to read this post: https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/workflow-for-setting-up-an-online-service-like-edublogs#post-86111 Also create a new file called anything like you (with php) so phpinfo.php for example. Then put this in: Upload it to your site and open it in the browser, check that the memory is actually 256. Pop it in a sub directory and check its the same there. If it is right at 256, then you need to add more. Multisite will use more and more as you go on if your site continues to grow and you use lots of themes/plugins (or even few if it gets busy).
