occurs, ever since installing OS X El Capitan on iMac 2 weeks back. Prior to OS update message had never appeared. 16GB RAM installed, Activity Monitor all reading fine. Have unchecked 'Auto-Collapse' and 'Auto-Show Hidden Panels' in Preferences, as some have suggested. Still no joy. CS6 Illustrator, Photoshop and Bridge all seem fine. Any suggestions? You mean disable those prefs within InDesign Preferences, presumably? Tried that already I'm afraid. Or are there some other Mac O/S Prefs I've overlooked?I don't necessarily expect Adobe to update CS6. I'd happily purchase a perpetual licence CS7, if they were to release one. Memory errors occur in InDesign whenever system resources, either disk space or memory, are insufficient for the size of the document on which you are working. To benefit most from this document, perform the tasks in order. Keep track of the tasks you perform and the results of each task, including errors or problematic behavior. Adobe Technical Support can use this information to better assist you, should you need to call. Before performing any of these tasks, back up all personal files (for example, InDesign files you created). Always restart the computer after an error occurs to refresh its memory. Continuing to work without restarting the computer may compound the problem. 1
being "out of memory." I did some Googling and came across this fix. Application Frame was already disabled under the http://technology.siprep.org/out-of-memory-error-with-adobe-indesign-cs6-and-el-capitan/ window, so the user didn't have to do that, but "trashing" (really renaming http://www.justanswer.com/computer/0ryjo-indesign-keep-getting-out-memory.html to com.adobe.InDesign.plist.bak when InDesign is closed) the ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.InDesign.plist file seems to have fixed the issue. Mac osX Expert: RoeIncarnate replied9 years ago. Ok, so the first thing to do is check that you have some free hard drive space on your root disk. Do this by going to the Finder and from the "Go" menu select "Computer". Then select your root hard drive/partition and select the menu "File->Get Info". Next to the line "Available" make sure there is some free space. If not, then you computer probably used it up with swap space (the OS will write some RAM memory to the hard drive when the RAM gets full). However sometimes the swap space takes up too much space. To fix this, delete some files or move them off the hard disk, then reboot (you need to make sure there is at least some free space before you reboot or else you can lose some preferences). If you have lots of free hard drive space, then you probably need to buy more memory for your computer. From the Apple menu select "About this Mac". How much memory does it say you have. If this is the answer to your question, please kindly select * ACCEPT * so I can be rewarded for my efforts. Ask Your Own Computer Question Customer: replied9 years ago.
