I am forced to kill both InDesign and Distiller with Task Manager. I am using "print booklet" with a document preset and a pdf http://superuser.com/questions/536270/why-does-adobe-indesign-say-out-of-memory preset. InDesign CS4 on Windows7 x64, i5 with 16gb RAM and 2gb GPU. I have a RAM meter, but the RAM meter never even reaches 1/4 (lots of RAM). Like I say, it works once, but locks up the second run. What memory is it out of? adobe-indesign share|improve this question asked Jan 14 '13 at 23:01 bgmCoder 88141540 1 It could be a bug in InDesign. Did you run updates on it? –Bigbio2002 Jan 14 '13 at 23:36 I have, it's CS4. I don't remember having this problem with CS4 a month ago. –bgmCoder Jan 14 '13 at 23:41 Maybe it's a plugin or other addin. –Bigbio2002 Jan 15 '13 at 0:01 You're out of ram. –Frank Jun 1 '14 at 23:58 I suppose if the RAM meter ever maxed out (did you read my question?) I might think that too. –bgmCoder Jun 2 '14 at 13:14 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote I believe Indesign CS4 is a 32bit application, so even though your system has lots of RAM, InDesign cannot use more than about 3.5GB. Likely you are seeing a small memory leak that is cau
being "out of memory." I did some Googling and came across this fix. Application Frame was already disabled under the http://technology.siprep.org/out-of-memory-error-with-adobe-indesign-cs6-and-el-capitan/ window, so the user didn't have to do that, but "trashing" (really renaming https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7250694?start=0&tstart=0 to com.adobe.InDesign.plist.bak when InDesign is closed) the ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.InDesign.plist file seems to have fixed the issue. I found this video on youtube that supposedly corrects the problem.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdNa60_fC1Y Helpful (0) Reply options Link to this post by smulhern19, smulhern19 Oct 6, 2015 10:35 AM in response to neuroticnelly Level 1 (0 points) Oct 6, 2015 10:35 AM in response to neuroticnelly That video does help open the programs but I'm running to "Out of Memory" errors when running Photoshop/InDesign at the same time. I KNOW that I have plenty of memory. I'm running a brand new MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) which has 16gb ram and am still receiving those errors. These errors never showed up until I upgrade to El Capitan. Ideas?
