Here are a few details: We have 3 environments upon which we develop: Our local Machine, which uses local IIS7 to run for development; test environment which is an actual webserver behind our firewall(IIS6); Production which is our live webserver(IIS6). The website works fine on local machines and test server but once we click a link button on production server it hangs.
Script28 Out Of Stack Space Jquery
The problem does not exist in Chrome, or FireFox it only exists in IE9. It does not exist when you put IE9 in compatibility mode. If I use the IE9 Developer tool bar and watch the scripts, as soon as you click one of the link buttons the console shows this error: SCRIPT28: Out of stack space , line 340 character 9 I am using quite a bit of JQuery and am wondering if this is causing an issue: However, I see no javascript errors. Any thoughts? Thanks for any suggestions. javascript asp.net internet-explorer response.redirect share|improve this question edited Jul 25 '12 at 13:43 dmitry 3,07341950 asked Jun 8 '11 at 14:33 MissioDei 3891517 2 If you're having a stack overflow (heh), my suggestion is to check for recursive function calls in your code. In particular, check line 340, character 9 in script #28, whatever script that is. –JAB Jun 8 '11 at 14:42 Thanks for the reply. I was thinking SCRIPT28: is an errorcode for IE. Below the code it gives the name of the page and then line 340 character 9. Here is what is on that line:

After analyzing the call stack when the error is thrown, it is huge! If I let the tests "breath": process.nextTick(function(){ setTimeout(function () { next(0); }, 5); }); .. all is fine. The project in which this is happening out of has 258 asserts and a total of 102 tests. liammclennan commented Jul 16, 2012 I get this error too. The specific error is: " Unable to get value of the property 'appendChild': object is null or undefined" thrown from runner.on('test end': stack[0].appendChild(el); for some reason stack is [] satazor commented Jul 16, 2012 @liammclennan that also happens to me sometimes after I get the stack space error on IE and refresh derickbailey commented Jul 27, 2012 we're getting this error in out of stack IE10 as well. does anyone have any clue what's going on? is this a design problem in mocha using recursion to run tests, under a limited stack frame environment? or ??? any help is appreciated, as we are running in to what looks like a limit of around 20 it blocks. the problem we're seeing is that the tests complete (pass or fail), and then trying to report the problem fails at line 1753: stack[0].appendChild(el); stack on this line is an empty array. OscarGodson commented Jul 27, 2012 Uh oh. EpicEditor is nearing over 100 tests as well and @johnmdonahue and I were going to switch over to Mocha. I'll be keeping an eye on this ticket. derickbailey commented Jul 27, 2012 i've spent the better part of the day trying to track this problem down, and here's what i've come up with: Mocha uses recursion to run the specs. I'm seeing the Runner.runSuite called over and over and over again. I have a test suite with 8 file, 13 "describe" blocks, 22 "it" blocks. By the time it gets down to the last of the it blocks in the last of the describe blocks, there are 535 items on the JavaScript call stack (that is, 535 stack frames). It looks like the stack is reset at the beginning of each file, some times... but at other times it looks like it is a cumulative stack for all files. It's

SCRIPT28: Out of stack space FileAPI.min.js, line 12, character 128 Owner danialfarid commented Nov 27, 2013 Could you provide more info please: What Operating System? Can you find out your installed Flash version and see if the problem exists in IE8 compatibility mode. What's the file size/type/name you are trying to upload? lukecyca commented Nov 27, 2013 Apologies. I hastily filed this issue without due troubleshooting. I am testing with IE10 on Windows 7 x64 in IE9 compatibility mode (but I've had user reports of failure in the real IE9). I didn't have Flash installed, so that's why it failed. After installing it, the demo works correctly. Perhaps FileAPI.min.js could give better feedback when Flash is not available. Other than that, there's really no issue here. Owner danialfarid commented Nov 27, 2013 OK, I will try to add a flash detection code for the next release so it would show an appropriate message if flash is not installed. danialfarid added a commit that referenced this issue Dec 4, 2013 danialfarid #68
