Join Now My user is using MS Word 2007, attempting to save in Word 97-2003 format. The document is macro enabled. When the user makes a visio error 1416 not enough memory change to the document, the error message returned is "The save failed due microsoft word insufficient memory or disk space to out of memory or disk space" The save works just fine if we save it in Word 2007 format. adobe reader out of memory solved This is not an option as it is a document that is traded back and forth with companies in Mexico that are only willing to run Word 2003. So far I have deleted https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/830265 Normal.dot, I have confirmed that there is no Veritas driver on the machine, I have cleared temp files and even done a rain dance for good measure. The most bizarre part of this issue is that I have experienced it and fixed it using the listed methods for other users. I have noticed that the issue seems to be contained to only XP. While upgrading the operating system https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/89309-ms-word-error-out-of-memory-or-disk-space is an option, it does not fit with our timeframe. Any and all thoughts are welcome. Nothing was gained in that instance. @Yoshimoto: yeah, I've suggested the compatibility pack several times and gotten shot down every single time. I'll try out that hotfix the next time this issue comes up. Latest update: I ran SFC without effect. I then had the user try again (while I did a rain dance in the background) and it started worki

Word 2007 never completes starting up. Reinstalling Word hasn't helped and if I can avoid reinstalling Windows until Windows 7 is released and get Word working in the mean time, that would be ideal. I've been looking around for out of memory a solution, once of which seemed to point to a problem with the user account. I created a second user on the machine and Word still had the same problem. The other solution that seems possible is a corrupted normal.dot/normal.dotm file. However, even in the location it should be, I can't seem to find it. Am I going in the right direction with this? Is there another solution I haven't come across that will fix this? If it is possible that renaming normal.dot/normal.dotm how can I find it? microsoft-word microsoft-word-2007 share|improve this question edited Oct 22 '09 at 13:28 Jared Harley 10.4k32844 asked Oct 7 '09 at 18:44 Adam 336139 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Two thoughts, the first being - are you sure your computer isn't running out of memory or disk space? What's your free space on your harddrive like? How much RAM do you have, and how much is being used when you try to launch Word? Secondly, per this KB article, do you have DelFin Media Viewer installed on your PC? share|improve this answer answered Oct 22 '09 at 13:43 Jared Harley 10.4k32844 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote Sometimes this is a problem with the anti-virus.
