your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now My user is using MS Word 2007, attempting to save https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/89309-ms-word-error-out-of-memory-or-disk-space in Word 97-2003 format. The document is macro enabled. When the user makes http://superuser.com/questions/561194/word-2010-there-is-insufficient-memory-or-disk-space-word-cannot-display-the a change to the document, the error message returned is "The save failed due to out of memory or disk space" The save works just fine if we save it in Word 2007 format. This is not an option as it is a document that is traded back and out of forth with companies in Mexico that are only willing to run Word 2003. So far I have deleted Normal.dot, I have confirmed that there is no Veritas driver on the machine, I have cleared temp files and even done a rain dance for good measure. The most bizarre part of this issue is that I have experienced it and fixed it using out of memory the listed methods for other users. I have noticed that the issue seems to be contained to only XP. While upgrading the operating system is an option, it does not fit with our timeframe. Any and all thoughts are welcome. Word cannot display the requested font up vote 3 down vote favorite My wife's laptop is a MacBook Pro running Windows 7 under BootCamp. It's a fast machine but when she tries to open an existing Word document or make a new blank one she gets the error message "There is insufficient memory or disk space. Word cannot display the requested font" and some of the layout is garbled. As you can see from this screenshot less than half of the 2.16 of usable RAM is in use and 180GB of the 232GB of hard drive are free. Word should not be running out of memory at all. I have tried Deleting the normal template Disabling all add ons and ins None of these work. What is going on and how should I fix it? microsoft-word microsoft-word-2010 share|improve this question asked Mar 5 '13 at 16:22 dumbledad 39421637 Did you recently install any adobe product before this error start showing? –Scorpion99 Aug 18 '14 at 10:39 This message most likely originates from GDI, which calls at least every other error “out of memory”. It’s mostly corrupted data, in this case probably the font file. –Daniel B Aug 29 at 20:16 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted I could not work out what was wrong with the installation but Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features Select Microsoft Office 2010 from the list Click 'change' Choose 'repair' fixed it share|improve this answer answered Mar 5 '13 at 16:22 dumbledad 39421637 It sounds like a broken install, well
