Blog On-line Guarantee Iceni Technology Blog All about PDF Editors, PDF Editing and Office Productivity Simon Crowfoot August 27, 2012 What To Do When A PDF Document Will Not Print Correctly You have probably experienced a http://www.iceni.com/blog/what-to-do-when-a-pdf-document-will-not-print-correctly/ problem with printing a PDF file. If not, keep the following hints in mind https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/130353-adobe-acrobat-running-out-of-memory for when you do have a problem. One possible source of the problem could be that the PDF file is corrupt. Corruption can occur through a variety of methods including errors introduced by some ISPs when emailing several files at the same time. They combine the files internally in their system and then separate them back out out of when the email leaves their forwarding system. Fortunately, few ISPs or email services still do this. Another source of corruption can be a corrupted disk sector or bad memory. Intermittent failures such as these can sometimes cause a corrupted PDF file when it is created. Try recreating the PDF from the original source and see if the problem remains. If someone else sent you the file, have him or her forward out of memory the file again and see if it prints OK. Corrupted fonts can also cause a problem printing PDF files. Reloading the fonts used may correct the problem. Your printer driver or firmware could also be a source of misprints or failure to print. If you get an out of memory error, the PDF could be too large for the printer to process. Try printing to a different printer. There is a work around if the above methods fail to resolve your PDF printing problems. With the document open, go to Print as usual. When the print options page opens up, click on the Advanced button. You will find a checkbox labeled as Print As Image. Click that box. You can also select a print resolution. 300 dpi is the default. Click OK to close the Advanced window. Click OK in the Print window to print the PDF file. This should work on all but the most stubborn files. Finally, you can try to repair the damaged PDF file. There are several free tools available to repair some PDF files and there are PDF repair programs you can buy. Use your favorite search engine and enter “PDF repair software” and try a few free programs before purchasing one. 8 Posted in PDF Viewers

Join Now Hello gang, I have a law office that is using Adobe Acrobat to add Bates numbers to PDFs and when the document is over 600 pages Acrobat will fail with an Out of Memory message. I have been on the phone with Adobe Support 3 times in the last week and the first solution was to purchase version 10 which did not work. The next solution was to convert the version 9 PDFs to version 10 PDFs it worked once. Now today they have increased the paging file again (this was one when troubleshooting the first time) and it has now worked on a Version 9 and Version 10 PDFs but we will see as the employee gives a good test tomorrow. I am really feeling that the program has a memory handling problem and the problem will occur again if the PDFs get to 1000 pages or more. I am thinking of getting a Win7 64 BIT with 8 GB RAM system and version 10 to head off problems before they start to occur again. So what does the group think, have any of you seen this before and fixed it? Oh the current system is a XP Pro , Duo with 4 GB reporting as the typical 3.45 GB RAM Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Who has adobe acrobat? Question about Ultraedit and Adobe Acrobat adobe acrobat   7 Replies Chipotle OP Barry3116 Mar 1, 2011 at 8:46 UTC We use Adobe's Acrobat here with Win7-64bit OS, 64bit will allow you to use more memory instead of 4Gb but the issue I have with this is that Adobe hasn't released a 64bit version of AdobeAcrobat, Flash, shockwave etc so I don't really know if it would help because it's still a 32bit programme and still limited to normal 32bit rules (isn't it?). Try upgrading one machine first and see what happens, make sure you have something like 6Gb RAM in the test machine (3x2Gb Sticks) as the lowest. 0 Jalapeno OP Trevmm Mar 2, 2011 at 7:54 UTC is your system page file (Virtual Memory) being set manually or by the system, the default is a manual figure, reset it to use the system (windows) to set it, this may help a bit Goto: Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance, Settings, Advanced, Virtual Memory, change and make sure it is set on "System Managed Size", if you are changing it make sure you push the "Set" button. 0 Thai Pepper OP Owenmpk Mar 8, 2011 at 9:32 UTC Valley IT Support, Inc. is an IT service provider.
