Viewable https://answers.sqlsentry.com/questions/146/is-there-a-fix-for-wmi-outofmemory-on-windows-2008.html by all users 0 1 answer: sort voted first ▼ oldest newest http://serverfault.com/questions/524088/out-of-memory-errors-on-windows-2008-virtual-machine voted first We’ve discovered an issue with the WMI service on Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 platforms in the form of a memory leak that may lead to “OutOfMemory” errors being reported by servers that SQL Sentry is trying to monitor. On a server encountering this problem the “wmiprvse.exe” process out of will display in task manager as using 512MB of memory or in excess of 512MB of memory. We have tracked this to a memory leak within the "win32_service" provider for WMI. The patch fixing this issue is now available from Microsoft at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981314. I have also disabled the pagefile on the 1st VM above as I have read that it is managed by the 2012 Hyper-V host (I haven't disabled the pagefile on the 2nd VM yet). The problem I am having is that I am seeing a lot of out of memory errors on the 1st machine. The server may become unresponsive and I will have to reboot it or I may see errors in the event log such as: =============================================================================== COM+ has determined that your machine is running very low on available memory.
