configured properly for your domain or hasn't been published at all. While you may not be able to solve it yourself, it is still possible to confirm that this is indeed the issue and use https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/970123 an alternative way to manage your Out of Office settings while your Exchange administrator takes a look at correcting the issue. Other Outlook features like managing message rules may also be affected. In Outlook 2013, the error will refer to “automatic replies” instead of “Out of Office”. In that case, https://www.msoutlook.info/question/879 the old way to prove your case still works as well; Ask 2 or 3 colleagues to try it on their computer and check if they have the same issue. When they do, it is probably a server related issue which needs to be escalated to your Exchange administrator. Test E-mail AutoConfiguration The first step is to run the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration command to see if AutoDiscover has been configured for your Exchange environment. With Outlook running, expand the Notification Area in the bottom right corner so that the Outlook icon becomes visible. Hold the CTRL button and right click on the Outlook icon. Choose: Test E-mail AutoConfiguration… Fill out your email address and password. Disable the options for “Use Guessmart” and “Secure Guessmart Authentication” so that only “Use AutoDiscover” is enabled. Press the Test button. Check the results. If unsuccessful, then AutoDiscover probably hasn't been configured at all. This is an unsupported configuration and your Exchange administrator needs to correct this. He or she can find more information about how to do so in the “Exchange Administrator information” section below. If successful, then the URL for the OOF service might be missing or set to the wrong URL. A successful AutoDiscover detection result. The OOF URL needs further analysis.(click o

An https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/475749-go-to-set-out-of-office-assistant-server-unavailable-message administrator needed help after installing Exchange 2010: The install went smoothly, or so I thought. Once we started using the server, problems surfaced. Out of Office doesn't work. When you try to open it, it returns an error "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, out of because the server is currently unavailable. try again later." When I attempt to download the offline address book, I get a synchronization error: "Task ‘username@domain.com’ reported error (0x8004010f) : ‘The operation failed. An object cannot be found.’ A server (URL) could not be located." I'm not sure if its related, but setting up new profiles in Outlook often out of office results in "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." Autodiscoverservices are configured, Outlook Anywhere is enabledand properly configured per TechNet. The Exchange Web Service (EWS) is the web service that allows access to the Out of Office service. If either the internal or external URL for the EWSis missing or incorrect, OOF will fail and other services may not work as expected. Using Exchange Management Shell, check the URLs assigned to the web service virtual directory using the Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectorycommand. If either the internal or external URL is missing or incorrect, set them using the Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory command. Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory Type or paste this line into Exchange Management Shell to check the EWS URLs Get-webservicesvirtualdirectory | fl identity, internalurl, externalurl If the server is configuredcorrectly, the command returns results similar to the following, with URLs in both the InternalUrland ExternalUrl fields. Identity : Server_name\EWS (Default Web Site) InternalUrl : ExternalUrl : Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory cmdlet If the external URL is missing, set it using the Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory command: Set-W

When they attempt to set their Out of Office settings in Outlook 2010 and/or 2013 the receive the message that their out of office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. I have done a repair of their profile in Mail settings and it has worked to fix the issue temporarily for a few but then some others not at all. They can still set the Out of Office reply from OWA with no problem. They are also still able to send and receive email from their Outlook with no issues at all. I have begun researching into this but thus far have not turned anything up that is a fix to the issue. Has anyone seen this before or knows how to fix it or can even point me in the right direction? If there is any further information needed please let me know. Not sure if you've tried this already. 0 Thai Pepper OP VericomITguy Apr 14, 2014 at 8:23 UTC BunnyOnABender wrote: By any chance these users have issues seeing other peoples free/busy information along with the issue with OOF?
