This issue usually happens when Outlook Anywhere has been enabled but AutoDiscover hasn't been configured properly for your domain or hasn't been published at out of all. While you may not be able to solve it yourself, it is still possible to confirm that this is indeed the issue and use an alternative way to manage your Out of Office settings while your Exchange administrator takes a look at correcting the issue. Other Outlook features like managing message rules may also be affected. In Outlook out of office 2013, the error will refer to “automatic replies” instead of “Out of Office”. (click on image to enlarge) Note: The steps below might be a little bit too much of an effort for some. In that case, the old way to prove your case still works as well; Ask 2 or 3 colleagues to try it on their computer and check if they have the same issue. When they do, it is probably a server related issue which needs to be escalated to your Exchange administrator. Test E-mail AutoConfiguration The first step is to run the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration command to see if AutoDiscover has been configured for your Exchange environment. With Outlook running, expand the Notification Area in the bottom right corner so that the Outlook icon becomes visible. Hold the CTRL button and right click on the Outlook icon. Choose: Test E-mail AutoConfiguration… Fill out your email address and password. Check if AutoDiscoverhas been Configured or not using Test E-mail Autoconfiguration command At first run this command to check whether AutoDiscovery has been configured or not. Steps are described below to check the same. 1). Run the outlook and click on the notification area appearing in the bottom right corner of your screen. 2). Now click on the Outlook icon, holding CTRL button. 3). Now select Test Email AutoConfigration Fill the Email Address and password In the next window that will appear after click on the Test E-mail AUtoconfigration. Uncheck the option Use Guessmart. Now click on the Test Now check out the results. If you got unsuccessful results means AutoDiscovers is not configured for your email If you are getting the successful output, than the missing URL for the Out of Office (OOF) service is causing the problem In case of successful AutoDiscover, verify your Out of Office (OOF) URL After a successful AutoDiscover check for OOF URL whether it is correct or not. For that look in the result tab of Test Email AutoConfigration for OOF URL. Look for the protocol group as shown below: 1). Disable the protocol Exchange RPC and enable Exchange HTTP when you are using Outlook internally. 2). When you are using Outlook Externally then use protocol Exchange HTTP After that now log on to OWA via Internet Explorer. Now in the address bar type OOF URL. You will get an XML information or service page if OOF services are available for the URL that you have given You will get an error 403 if services are not available for your URL.
