Reboot. If that doesnt work: Boot into safe mode, go to device manager (right click on my computer, select properties, select hardware tab). find your video card and right click on http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/262153-45-monitor-showing-range-windows-start-screen it and select uninstall. It will require a reboot. The drivers should automatically re-install on reboot and ask for another reboot. Should that not work, you may need to install from your disk or download from the net. m 1 l Can't find your answer ? Ask ! Once in Safe Mode, decrease your video card resolution to a resolution that's supported by the monitor. If you've changed the monitor resolution, reboot the http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001265.htm computer to see if this resolves the issue. If the resolution is supported https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2173459 or following the above steps did not help, we suggest reinstalling the drivers for your monitor and video card by following the remainder of the steps. In Safe Mode, open the Windows Device Manager. Once in Device Manager, expand the "Display adapters" and "Monitors" sections and remove each of the devices out of listed under those two sections. You can do this by highlighting each device and pressing the delete key. Once the Display adapters and Monitors have been removed, reboot the computer and let Windows reinstall the drivers for these devices. If Windows cannot find the drivers or you need updated drivers for either of these devices, see the computer drivers section. If after following the steps out of range above, your monitor still displays the " Input signal out of range" error message, you may have a bad monitor or bad video card. Try one or both of the following options to determine if the monitor or video card is potentially bad. Connect your monitor to another working computer. If the monitor works on another computer, then your computer potentially has a bad video card. Borrow a working monitor from a friend or family member and connect it to your computer. If that monitor works, then your monitor is likely bad and should be replaced. If that monitor does not work as well, then your computer potentially has a bad video card. After trying the options above, if you find that the issue may be a bad video card, we recommend that you replace the video card or have it professionally repaired. Everytime I attempt to boot "normally" the start up never completes, and the screen says "out of range." When I get to Grub, if I change to "recovery mode" startup, and choose "safe graphics mode" I am able to boot to the "desktop" using the "lower graphics" option. I have used grub customizer twice to try and set some different resolutions, but no matter what I do, I still get the "out of range" error, even though the resolution of the screen does change--I can see that when it gets to Grub. see paste.ubuntu.com/6081192/ paste.ubuntu.com/6081429/ Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really never expected this to be so difficult. I can install XP by just throwing the disk in the drive, and be done
