Personal Folder (pst-files) connected in Outlook and I wanted to add another one. When I tried, I got the following error; "Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again." My out of memory or system resources outlook 2013 system has lots of memory (4GB) and still plenty of memory free but even outlook 2016 out of memory or system resources after closing all other applications and restarting my computer, I still get the same error. How can I open more pst-files? When out of memory or system resources outlook 2007 Outlook connects to a pst-file, it stores and reserves as certain portion of memory as a cache to increase performance. For this, Outlook only has a certain amount of address space available and it is out of memory or system resources outlook 2010 pst this “memory or system resource” that Outlook has run out on. To solve this issues there are 2 main solutions; Decrease the amount of pst-files that you have open in Outlook Decrease the memory cache-size per pst-file via the Registry Decrease the amount of pst-files that you have open in Outlook As you will only run into this problem when you have more than 15 pst-files of a considerable size (1GB or

more) connected in Outlook or over 50 of medium smaller sized ones (around 300MB), the practical solution would be to decrease the amount of pst-files that you have open in Outlook. For instance; Disconnect the pst-files that you are not actively using and consider only to archive to a separate pst-file when the work on that specific project or assignment has been completed (which is often a common reason to use separate pst-files). Note: If you’ve got less than 15 pst-files connected in Outlook, then the solutions in this article will not solve your issue. In that case, it is much more likely that you’ll fix your issue by running scanpst.exe against all your pst-files, troubleshooting your add-ins or recreating your mail profile. For additional solutions also see; Outlook doesn’t start Decrease the memory cache-size per pst-file via the Registry If there is no way to reduce the amount of pst-file that you need to have connected to Outlook and you are running into this error, then you can reduce the amount of memory cache that Outlook allocates to each connected pst-file via a Registry change; Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\

Standard 64bit Out of Memory Error Microsoft Office > Outlook outlook 2016 system resources are critically low IT Pro Discussions General discussion 0 Sign in to vote I have a Windows outlook cannot open this item out of memory or system resources 7 Pro 64bit machine running Office 2010 Standard 64bit fora legal client. There is 16gb of memory in the PC. This client has about 90 https://www.msoutlook.info/question/518 archive folders that she accesses with contents ranging from 1 email to 10,000, with the majority of them being around 200 to 400 messages. I was able to open about 75 of these archive folders when I got an “Out of Memory” error. At the time I had 8gb of ram https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c7c5344d-921a-46b8-8011-f3dd11b6804a/outlook-2010-standard-64bit-out-of-memory-error?forum=outlook in the computer. I bumped up to 16gb, but still cannot open any more archives. Outlook is connected to SBS 2003. The archives are all on the local computer. The only email account is a single Exchange mailbox on the SBS machine. Am I up against some limitation of Outlook or Exchangethat additional memory does not solve? Are these archive pst files or folders within a pst? Outlookdoes have a limit to the number of pst file you can have in a profile - the limit used to be about 5

WEIRDER AND WACKIER By David Gewirtz Last week's weird and quirky article was so popular, http://outlookpower.com/article/what-causes-the-out-of-memory-or-system-resources-error/ we've got more. Of course, when you're talking about Outlook, you're bound to touch on weird and quirky pretty darn soon. Such is the case for Joel Andoetoe, who writes: I found the article on Outlook's weird and quirky behaviors in http://www.slipstick.com/problems/expand-outlook-folders-memory/ this weeks' edition on the OutlookPower newsletter very interesting. I have repeatedly run into the same "out of system resources" message. As far as I can see, this only happens when I have copied one or more large items to my out of clipboard and try pasting them in the message, instead of using the "add attachment" function. Usually, the error disappears as soon as I give up the copy/paste thing, and just use the "add attachment" function instead. In really bad cases, it doesn't. Closing Outlook though will solve the issue. Once I reopen, the message I was trying to send will be sitting in my Drafts folder, with ALL of the attachments I tried to copy/paste (multiplied by the number of failed attempts) and out of memory I can send it. (of course, after getting rid of the excess double attachments) Weird, weird, weird... I run Windows XP SP2, P4 Mobile 1.6 GHz processor, 1024 MB RAM, plenty of available disk space (12 GB or something like that) and Office 2003 Pro SP1. I keep my mail in many spots. The default Inbox, Sent items etc. Folders on the company's Exchange server, 3 large PST's (500, 850 and 1700 MB) on my hard drive, and 2 more archive folders on a network drive. Thanks for the great articles in OutlookPower Magazine; I do not usually like newsletters and it took me 3 months before I even subscribed to this one, and it's worth it! I'm glad you think OutlookPower's worth your reading time. We do our best to make it so. I have to admit, you keep your mail in more places than I can think about without getting a headache. It turns out that Outlook sends out the "Out of memory or system resources" message for some things that aren't intuitively obvious. For example, did you know that if you have an old version of the PGP email encryption program on your computer, you'll get the "Out of memory or system resources" error? In that case, you'll need to uninstall PGP. What's weird is that this error almost always happens when you've upgraded Outlook from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2003. Go figure. You can also get the "Out of memory or system re

In most cases, you won't have a problem until you exceed approximately 1,000 folders, or a gigabyte of space is used. Outlook works fine for a little bit (5-10 minutes) before users start getting this error: Task 'Microsoft Exchange' reported error (0x8007000E) : 'Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again.' Cannot display the folder. There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again. Cannot expand the folder. There is not enough free memory to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again. Cannot expand the folder. There is not enough memory available to perform the operation. When they close Outlook and reopen it, they can again work for a few minutes before the errors kick in. The error appears whenever clicking or expanding a folder (public folder or mailbox folder) except for the Inbox. When the error occurs, mail in the Outbox also doesn't get sent until Outlook is restarted. The Solution You have two options to avoid this problem: either disable the Download Public Folder Favorites option, or keep the number of cached public folders favorites under 1,000 (or low enough to avoid the error message.) . You can typically reduce the number of public folder favorites by deleting them by using the Outlook client. To disable the Download Public Folder Favorites option: In Outlook, click File, Account Settings, and then click Account Settings. Double click on your Exchange account or select it and then click Change. Click More Settings. On the Advanced tab, clear the Download Public Folder Favorites check box. Click OK and return to Outlook. You'll need to restart Outlook for these changes to take effect. In some cases in which you have too many public folder favorites, you may receive an error message when you attempt to delete the folders in Outlook. When this occurs, you'll need to use MFCMAPI to delete the folders. Run MFCMAPI. On the Session menu, click
