An administrator needed help after installing Exchange 2010: The install went smoothly, or http://www.itexperience.net/2009/03/02/your-out-of-office-settings-cannot-be-displayed-in-outlook-2007/ so I thought. Once we started using the server, problems surfaced. Out of Office doesn't work. When you try to open it, it returns an error "Your out of Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. try again later." When I attempt to download the offline address book, I get a synchronization error: "Task ‘username@domain.com’ reported error (0x8004010f) : ‘The operation failed. An object cannot be found.’ A server (URL) could not be located." I'm not sure out of office if its related, but setting up new profiles in Outlook often results in "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." Autodiscoverservices are configured, Outlook Anywhere is enabledand properly configured per TechNet. The Exchange Web Service (EWS) is the web service that allows access to the Out of Office service. If either the internal or external URL for the EWSis missing or incorrect, OOF will fail and other services may not work as expected. Using Exchange Management Shell, check the URLs assigned to the web service virtual directory using the Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectorycommand. If either the internal or external URL is missing or incorrect, set them using the Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory command. Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory Type or paste this line into Exchange Management Shell to check the EWS URLs Get-webservicesvirtualdirectory | fl identity, internalurl, externalurl If the server is configuredcorrectly, the command returns results similar to the following, with URLs in both the InternalUrland ExternalUrl fields. Identity : Server_name\EWS (Default
open the Out-Office Assistant: Your Out Of Office settings cannot be displayed in Outlook 2007 "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later." One of the following reason may cause this error: You're trying to open the OOF settings of different Exchange-account Incorrect Autodiscover Service settings Wrong certificate "Enable Anonymous Access" is enabled in IIS on te EWS virtual directory. 1) In most cases, the reason for this error is thatIf you try to adjust the Out of Office settings of User A, while you're logged on as User B, As an Exchange administrator, you probably need to modify collegues' Out of Office settings on occasional basis. Unfortunately, this is not possibleSince we have migrated from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007, I couldn't modify Out of Office settings anymore. Editing OOF settings by logging in with an administrator account resulted in the following error: "Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable. Try again later" Solution: Keep one system up with Outlook 2003. :) Another solution is to log in as user X, but then you will have to reset the users' password.
